Laxmi Palace is a Good Hotel in Dehradun , its Very Near to Sahranpur Chowk, The Good Thing About this Hotel , Rooms are Neat and Clean , Deluxe Rooms have Minibar Also ,But Problem is that Food Quality is not Good In this Hotel, and in Near By Place you will not find any Good Place to Eat , main Market of Dehradun is Far Away , but Railway Station is not so Far .
Room No.: 102, Date: 7 June 2014 (Single Night) As I reached Dehradun by 10.15PM I just wanted get into a hotel without being cheated by auto rikshaw drivers. When I landed at Dominos to have my dinner the board of this hotel attracted me and so I ended up here. Check in was real smooth, but they simply switched on the AC and took the remote back. Even after asking several times to get me a AC remote they didn't responded. In morning when it become too cold to live in I went to reception twice and asked them to switch off the AC. After an hour they switched it off. Thus proves that the service sucks. About Room; Room was not so spacious and bed sheet was dirty. I asked them to change the bed sheet but they didn't responded again. Bathroom was average. AC was working beyond my expectation. Check out was also smooth and its slightly budget friendly. Just OK for a day stay. And yes, Its location is good, Its near to ISBT, Dominos. You can easily get local bus/share auto from the front road. And hotel itself is a landmark for address.
The hotel is just OK and nothing extra-ordinary. The rooms are also average and have seepage problem, due to which you Will always feel a foul smell inside the room. However, it is a good option considering its proximity with ISBT and the fact that it has a functional restaurant with decent preparation so, you don't have to run here and there for your meals. Try and compare it with other hotels of similar price range and then make a decision.
For the price they charge you, I would say that its not a great deal. The hotel looks good from the outside and is ok from the inside but, the rooms are not upto the mark. In fact, the hotel has a weird architecture. Mant of the rooms have seepage problem. The blankets stink and even the towels are not clean. Despite of me asking the staff to change them, they weren't. That's annoying. The only good part I liked about this hotel was "sapphire restaurant" which is located in the same premises. I feel that there are numerous alternatives in the 1500-2000 rupees range which can be explored.
