Except for the natural environment n friendly staff, everything is missing here.on entering the so called resort no proper reception,no intercom in room.no TV,no toiletries in bathroom.besides this u can reach to hotel via a narrow lane which can be adventurous if there is traffic.also note there is no pool,no spa

Peaceful in the lap of nature Peaceful in the lap of nature

Stayed thrice in the same resort and every time feel fresh and in the lap of nature. Its a very peaceful property located adjacent to Robber's cave another must visit tourist spot in Dehradun. All the rooms are comfortable on the ground floor and are lawn facing. TV is available only in the common area and not in the rooms. Food is good and they prepare on order as per your requirement. Staff is extremely helpful and polite.

Dont get taken in by the pretty pictures and deceptive text Dont get taken in by the pretty pictures and deceptive text

by merrybarua on June 19, 2017

I took a trip of two days wrestled out of a very busy schedule and felt completed cheated and violated with the dishonesty and prevarication that we encountered at Rio Resorts. Trying to get to rio resort we were in for a RUDE SHOCK. You cannot enter or leave the place from around 11am to 5.30pm on saturdays and sundays when the entire approach is jammed with cars that cannot budge and a huge crush of people who go to visit robbers cave. You are simply TRAPPED in the place. It took us 90 MINUTES to traverse the last five hundred yards to reach the hotel. There was no food when we arrived. Not even bread. Someone had to be dispatched to the market to get some bread, cucumbers etc to make sandwiches and fritters for our lunch. But once there we thought we would go for a swim and use the spa. The website had promised SPA, POOL, GYM etc. On enquiry were told there was no spa but they could get us a massage-wallah from town if we wanted! There was no gym. And the pool was a murky public pool with which the hotel shared a boundary! We had gone for a 'serene' two days as promised on the website. Instead we were trapped with the cacophony of a few hundred locals milling around in the pool accompanied by blaring film music. On the web rio resort also promised wifi, bathrobes, hair dryers, iron, in the rooms. Nothing! ALL NON-EXISTENT. There are no telephones in the room. For everything we had to walk around looking for someone to place an order with. Don't expect any service before 7am. No one stirs before that. The plastic shower curtains are grimy. To step into the much-advertised stream you step across filth, half buried empty gunny bags, broken buckets. Trapped in the place with none of the activities we had selected the place for i thought we will catch the news on the television. The one promised 'television in the lobby' was not subscribed for! So while there actually is an idiot box, it does not work. And on our second morning there the hotel lit copious bonfires of discarded stuff. All I could think was here is a hotel adding to environmental degradation by burning its rubbish. A hotel can post a fairy tale and have a pleasant marketing person taking calls. Visitors can find out only when they get there.

The most dishonest place! The most dishonest place!

by Falguni B on June 14, 2017

The place promises a huge amount of amenities which is all fake. Firstly to locate the place is difficult. God help you if you are specially there in June to August(as we were told by the locals) the approach road is unapproachable as it is very narrow and shares the same way to the Cave below and a public swimming pool with no infrastructure for the vehicles. One can be stuck in a car for 1-2 hrs in reaching the Resort which the owners do not tell you. Then a narrow road by the public pool takes you to the Resort. The Rooms are spacious but towels and linen are not too clean. The Rooms do not provide you with Bath robes, slippers, iron or a hair dryer as promised. No WIFI as said or even TVs in the room to watch. The Spa is inoperative and dirty. If you wanted to use it they would ask some local person to give you a massage. There was a dirty bowl of oil lying in there. There is no Swimming Pool as promised. One has to pay and use the dirty public Pool outside the Resort. The Restaurant ....less said the better! One has to eat their very basic set menu and no options for anything else. The Staff very good. A lot can be done with a place like that if they handed it over to some better management.

Demo Trip Better to opt for resort, it's bit expensive in comparison to huts, but it's reasonable. Trust me, you will not regret.
