We visited at a time when the temperature in Dehradun was nearing 40 degrees, yet because of the location of the resort amidst trees, the rooms were pretty cozy and comfortable. Drive to the resort was beautiful, to say the least, through vivid jungles.
Wanted to book a suite but had to settle with a superior room called Moksha, coz of non availability, the place has only a couple of suites. But the room was huge with such old school charm about it. Bathroom was big too and was a room in itself..!! Our room was next to the swimming pool and gave a feel as if the pool was private, for us. Loved every bit of it.
A major concern though, the service was not up to the mark. The room was at some distance from the kitchen so all the food ordered arrived cold to the room. And in one case, the server spilled some soup while seving it and then forgot to get the fresh order for an hour. Had to eventually cancel it. So there goes one star for that. However, would still give them benefit of doubt.
Food options are limited but the taste is superb.
I am sure, given all the greenery and acres to explore, the place would look majestic in rainy season. Would definitely visit again, in the hope of better service.
Hi all, we had a great fun in this awesome property. We went along with our kids, they have everything for each age group people. They have good food, staff, ambience.
Theme based on Indian army, where they have given a tribute to our all soldiers. We got the exactly same experience for which we were looking for.
We absolutely loved our stay at vishranti.
Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, peaceful stay. The staff was extremely friendly and the property is simply breath taking.
Usually i dont write reviews but vishranti deserves it
Had the best time staying here with family. Amazing lawns, good food, fun times and unique entertainment for the entire family. We were planning equal days in mussorie rishikesh and dehradhun but ultimately this resort stole our heart and we stayed here for most of the holiday.
The place is a complete let down at worst and a misplaced proposition at best.
RED FLAG #1: Ashanti, not Vishranti!
The resort doubles up as a lifestyle club for city folks who don't need to be residents to use its amenities including the swimming pool, besides the bar and restaurant being open for loud music and crowded celebrations. The aviary that houses dozens of birds is too close to the rooms as the cocks and pheasants keep screeching shrilly day and night.
We had booked the Shanti Suite but were later moved to Vishranti Suite because the a/c in Shanti wasnt working (a very old one at that, even the remote display didnt work). The alternative was a small "portable a/c" with a huge outlet pipe that required you to keep the window open. An absolutely un-brilliant solution what with monkeys, kittens and mosquitoes all around you.
RED FLAG #2 Compromised Privacy
The Shanti suite shares a locked glass door with the pub with little noise cancellation - resulting in voices traveling from the bar right into your living room as well as bedroom.
The Vishranti Suite (mentioned but not described on the website) had its own unbelievable challenges:
- the bed in the living room is so high that you have to jump up to climb into or out of it. I'm 5'5" - won't call myself really short, or should I?
- RED FLAG #3 No Fan
The bedroom does not, I repeat, does NOT have a fan and the window a/c has no remote and no timer.
- the bathroom has one toilet bowl, 2 wash basins, 1 bath tub , 1 shower cabin and a dresser. (This suite is supposedly for 2 couples / families - imagine the chaos!) The bathtub perched on top of a platform with 3-4 high steps leaks at the bottom step and floods half the bathroom when the shower cabin is used.
RED FLAG #4 Miserable Staff Quality
Impossibly slow and inefficient service.
Think 30 min for beer, tea served lukewarm, stinking tables in restaurant, no response on intercom post 10pm..
RED FLAG #5
Extremely cheap and worn out amenities at the gaming zone open for non-residents. Think broken shuttle-cocks, flapping TT racquets, bent snooker cue stick, missing board game counters - all placed in a large, dirty, poorly ventilated hall. If the a/c works, youre lucky. The swimming pool is predictably dirty with cats walking around leftover food on surrounding tables. The Spa is gloomy and musty with really short tables for an average persons height again, 55 remember?
The owner, Madhurika, did her best to make up for our ruined experience and we appreciate her intent. But what this property needs is a complete overhaul upside down, inside out!
