You are segregated and you are not segregated!!!!! Right in the middle of the city and right in the middle of the jungle!!! Short drive about five hours from gurgaon and good morning walk if you can wake up early morning !!!! I loved it for a small get away from busy hectic life !!!!! Happy holidays

If there is heaven on earth it is here If there is heaven on earth it is here

Great place, great food, tastefully done up, excellent facilities... and the lovely trek upto river Tons, where you can spend all day... great for trekking, hiking, birdwatching, and doing nothing... a place to revisit...

A four room bungalow done up very tastefully in eclectic decor,we loved every bit of it. The staff is very patient, the chef prepares food with his heart and the variety is commendable. Loved our one night stay here. You could come here with a big group to enjoy a weekend or stay here while you make a day trip to mussoorie. In terms of facilities to rejuvenate,do not expect much since it doesnt have a spa or swimming pool. The adjoining property that shares the same parking has these two facilities just in case you want to indulge. In and around, again there isnt much. So come with the mindset of just chilling and you'll enjoy your stay here.

Quiet and peaceful property for those who want to get away from the city Quiet and peaceful property for those who want to get away from the city

We stayed here for 3 nights during the school term-break holidays and had booked 2 rooms (Peacock in the ground floor and Tragopan in the first floor). The property is a charming English-style cottage with 4 large rooms, each of them very thematically decorated. The welcome by the staff was very warm and friendly and they could give us some good advice on what could be done around the property. The large balcony on the first floor is well laid out with sofas to lounge and read and there are books all over the place. Just one caveat though - this is an old property and could have been better maintained, give it that allowance and you will enjoy the stay here. The property and the area around is a great place for birding - which was my focus. I was rewarded with some great pics of the Crimson Sunbird the Puff-throated Babbler, but was disappointed that I just couldn't see the Nepal Wren-babbler which is usually found around the property. My daughter and mom were happy to spend their time around the property walking, lounging and reading in the garden and the balcony. And if this is your cup of tea, then this is a great place to come to. The place is very quiet and peaceful and the only sounds we would here would be bird calls and the sound of the river flowing The food is simple, home-cooked style which was perfect for us. Since we were the only people in the property during this time (apart from the first night), we had the luxury of specifying our choice.

Poor hospitality - the place must have been heavenly at one time... Poor hospitality - the place must have been heavenly at one time...

We stayed for a night and were welcomed with plain water on arrival. The Tragopan room was opened for us and that was it as far as the welcome was concerned . No attempt was made to offer tea/ coffee or make us comfortable by introducing us to the place. The bathroom window was kept open which we thought was to drive away the dinginess of the place as there is no wire meshing of the doors or windows . As we closed the window in the late evening we found the bathroom reeking of stink . In the morning , we used the bathroom of the adjacent MALLARD room . The maintainence is very poor. There is seepage everywhere . Switchboards are about to fall out.The staff is not courteous though food is excellent and the birds one gets to watch kind of make up for all the drawbacks. The interiors must have been beautiful once though now due to poor maintainence they are in real bad shape. The adjacent shaheenbagh resort is maintained like heaven . It's simply BEAUTIFUL.. We repented about not knowing about it earlier..

Demo Trip The two rooms on the 1st floor have the best access to the balcony so I would recommend picking them

Demo Trip the Peacock suite and the Oriole Room on the 1st floor are better lit and have access to the verandah overlooking the lawn.

Demo Trip choose one of the room on the first floor. The huge veranda with the surrounding flowering trees is simply too perfect for words.

Demo Trip Peacock room has the best views. Plan your day early and head down to the river nearby for a relaxing time.
