What I most appreciated about our stay at the Pink House is the grace and hospitality of the entire team. Their customer service is par excellent and it was indeed lovely being at this good hotel. Great value for the money indeed...
Well there were some renovation work going on in the hotel the time we visited so the access was not at all up to the mark. We had to get down some stairs to reach the hotel and they were in terrible conditions(continuous rains made it worse) There were no stairs virtually the way down, looked liked a trek itself.Anyways we got an apology letter from the management which was a nice gesture, and only after we risked some of bones getting down their main way twice, they told us that there is an alternate access to the hotel. Due to off season or whatever be the reason the service was not that up to the mark. We reached there at 7'o' clock in the morning from delhi, it was chilling and we asked for a heater , the receptionist said it could only be made available after 8. Room was good and balcony was perfect (great view of the mountains). There were no soaps in the bathroom, when asked, the standard answer was it could only be made available after 8. Food was good, we didn't get to dine at the rooftop cafe because it was raining cats and dogs, but I guess midst so many excellent options of food on the jogiwara road, you wouldn't want to waste your appetite dining in the pink house. The location was perfect, climb the stairs and you are on the main road. Bad weather and ongoing renovation made our stay sour, but still I think they could have done a better job.

I found Pink house thanks to tripadvisor. It is pretty much the first hotel that you will see which is well within your budget and yet with every facility you would want. People with cars, I am not sure about parking so you might want to check it out with them. Though you have to climb down about 20 steps to reach here and with luggage it might pinch you a little bit, but you will forget all that once you step into your room. Try taking the deluxe rooms, they are the ones with good view. Rooms are pretty spacious, have TV's, cozy comforters, hot water and balcony + view. A very pretty rooftop cafe decorated with pretty lights awaits you and the fun of drinking a hot chocolate here has a different charm to it. They also have a great in house restaurant and I had some great parathas, pan cakes here. The restaurant guy is very friendly so added points for that. They did charge me a couple of extra bucks for overstaying some hours beyond my check out time which is ok. At the end they sent someone to drop our luggage till the road even when we had not asked for it, that guy felt like a saviour since I had just returned from triund and my legs were numb. I am recommending this place to all my friends, pretty much the best bet in mcleodganj. This is going to be the place I stay whenever in Mcleodganj next!!
We stayed at the Pink House in 1st week of November and we were glad that we chose this place for our 5 day visit to Mcleodganj. The view from the rooms is amazing and the place has a quaint lounge area to spend your lazy afternoons. The owner Mr Javed is very helpful and will help you set up your treks to Triund & Spiti. The place is set in the main city making the main market easily accessible. But yes you will need to climb down 200 steps from the road to get to the hotel and it would be worth it. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. They can improve the food and include more dishes to the menu also they do not have room service so that's a lone negative.
I stayed for 3 nights at Pink House in McLeod Ganj having planned to stay just 2. This was mostly due to the wonderful host, Javid and his great team of friendly and helpful staff. The location is fantastic with views over the mountains. The restaurant produces delicious food and has the option of sitting outside to admire the location or inside amongst comfy cushions and shelves of books to browse. My room was lovely and there was plenty of hot water, WiFi and towels. I was there over Diwali and Javid invited me to join the celebrations with the staff team and then provided dinner at his expense to all the guests. What a special experience! Javid was also extremely helpful in organising my onward travel (including the taxi driver coming to my room to help me with my bags!) and sorting out a slight cashflow crisis I was experiencing due to the ATMs being out of order! Above and beyond the call of duty! I can easily see why so many people return to Pink House year after year, thank you all for a wonderful few days :-)
Stayed for a night in the Pink House in October 2016. Being a budget hotel the rooms are pretty basic, sheets were a bit stained but manageable. My room overlooked a bit of forest and had a nice time birding in the balcony! Staff are nice and accommodating with requests. Not very happy with the food but there are a lot of options nearby. The catch is that there will be a million steps to climb up whenever you have to get to the street!
I could opt for an luxurious place to stay but I wanted to experience a simple life and enjoy the my adventures with the locals who knows so much where to go. Very convenient and just 10mins walk to the Dalai Lama temple and residence. This was a perfect place I will definitely recommend to my friends and family. Wonderful people and great food! Special thanks to moles (sorry if I didn't spell it right), front desk guy and Om, the kitchen guy.
