What I most appreciated about our stay at the Pink House is the grace and hospitality of the entire team. Their customer service is par excellent and it was indeed lovely being at this good hotel. Great value for the money indeed...
Well there were some renovation work going on in the hotel the time we visited so the access was not at all up to the mark. We had to get down some stairs to reach the hotel and they were in terrible conditions(continuous rains made it worse) There were no stairs virtually the way down, looked liked a trek itself.Anyways we got an apology letter from the management which was a nice gesture, and only after we risked some of bones getting down their main way twice, they told us that there is an alternate access to the hotel. Due to off season or whatever be the reason the service was not that up to the mark. We reached there at 7'o' clock in the morning from delhi, it was chilling and we asked for a heater , the receptionist said it could only be made available after 8. Room was good and balcony was perfect (great view of the mountains). There were no soaps in the bathroom, when asked, the standard answer was it could only be made available after 8. Food was good, we didn't get to dine at the rooftop cafe because it was raining cats and dogs, but I guess midst so many excellent options of food on the jogiwara road, you wouldn't want to waste your appetite dining in the pink house. The location was perfect, climb the stairs and you are on the main road. Bad weather and ongoing renovation made our stay sour, but still I think they could have done a better job.

We came to Pink house because we saw it was highly rated on Trip Advisor and I agree with the ratings. Very comfortable and clean room and hotel with gorgeous views of the Himalayan foothills. Restaurant was pretty good, staff was courteous, ex went the extra mile with very delicious welcome tea and we did order room service once and were pleased with the experience. My only problem was that I wasn't able to get hot water in the room, even though was told there was hot water and there was a hot water heater in the room. It only worked for a couple minutes at a time which was a problem because was very cold in January at night/in the morning. However I still give the room 5 stars because I think that is more of an infrastructure problem than fault of the hotel, and was somewhat expecting to run into that.
This hotel has 100+ stairs to climb up to reach there, but trust me guys even if it would have been 500+ i would have still went and stayed here,. I was booked for 2 nights but due to the amazing services that we got. We extended our stay by a night more. So that makes 3 nights in total at this amazing place. Javed the owner of this place and bilal are just fabulous. You guys are doing a very nice job to keep every customer of urs happy. And we never felt that we were staying at a hotel. It was just the homely feeling coming up while staying here. We were booked for deluxe room with breakfast, but bilal upgraded us to super deluxe room category at one go. Just by telling him once if he could. The breakfast is really nice and filling. And the tea served here is just too good. And better than what we had had in other restaurants too. They have a library too with super views of mountains and has good amount of books to. The restaurant is also located on top which also has some great views of valley. The wifi at this hotel was also great and didt disconnect even once. Over all a happy place and the place to stay when in mcloedgunj
I went here with my family, they gave me a free upgrade to deluxe as it was off season and some renovation work ongoing. Staff was super friendly and did all the work with a smile. The place requires some steps to climb up and down around 120, so make sure you have the legs to do the same. Apart from that the location is perfect, great view of the valley and 5 mins from the market and 10 mins to the main square.
Stayed here for a few nights and liked to position away from the main hustle of the McLeod Ganj central area, there are quite a few steps to get up to the road but it's good exercise (the little Tibetan tea shop opposite the top of the stairs makes great tea). The rooms are spacious and the beds nice and comfortable, the view over the lower valley and mountain peaks beyond is very nice and a great way to relax with some chai. The food is really good I ate here many times through my stay, try the Kashmir Khewa tea it's so good. I will stay here again when I am in McLeod Ganj.
Pros Helpful Staff Cons 100+ Stairs / Creepy Location of the Hotel - See attached pics. No room service for even a morning tea - We were just refused for this. No services during the night - even the intercom is switched off. We reached here at 4 am and were completely unaware of where the hotel is located. Google Maps made us reach until the stairs but even after talking to the owner while doing the bookings (just a day before the check-in) we were NOT informed about the stairs or the location difficulties. When we tried calling the hotel numbers, Landline number was continuously ringing & mobile number was switched OFF, making it all the more difficult to reach the place. However, at last when we just reached down and searched the hotel, we had another surprise waiting for us - there was no staff available anywhere. The front desk was empty, the staff was sleeping behind closed doors and searching the staff was like a Hide & Seek Game that we have to play after a long journey and being dead tired after the stairs in the chilly weather. After that the room was smelly, blankets were dirty and the towels also were stinking. The room was chilly and to get a heater and all the other things fixed, we had to actually walk up & down the stairs to wake up the staff as the Intercom's are switched off at night - Why ? Coz the room service is NOT available at night :-) When we argued with the owner the next day on these inconveniences, he calmly said that all these things are already updated on Trip Advisor Reviews which I completely agree. But when I had spoken with him before doing the bookings, I expected him to at least notify me where the staff would be sleeping and how to reach them at night, when the phones will not be picked up. Going up and down the 100+ stairs is really a challenge and I seriously don't understand why this hotel has good Tripadvisor Rankings...
