we booked 2 rooms, one for our kids & another for us. rooms were allotted at the 2 ends of the corridor on the same floor. request for allotment of rooms either opposite to each other or besides one another were not accepted. further for us couple, 2 single beds were allotted instead of one double bed. otherwise hotel is situated in a good location, staff are courteous, however not very helpful. food & service is excellent. ambience is good.

Opposite is Fire service is Hotel Tibet where u can set on Fire your desire to have tasty food. It provides you with good and tasty food Hotel is located in the walking area.. one can try this place when in Gangtok
It was my business that put me up for 3 nights in this hotel in Gangtok. Let me give my feedback. 1. When you reach you get a small parking place which is very much needed in Gangtok city. 2. The reception people are ready to welcome with a smile. The first impression is the last impression. Big lounge to rest with restrooms. 3. We stayed in a deluxe room on the 3 rd floor. The room was big, bed was quite comfortable, linens clean, separate writing table with chairs and sitting area was there. Fantastic view of Mount Kanchendzonga from the room. Having great view of Paljore stadium. Bathroom having geyser inside, so no problem with 24 hours hot and cold water. But the bathroom needs a little maintenance. The water from the wet area comes towards the dry area which is the door of the bathroom. This is really not acceptable. 4. 3 minutes walking distance to M.G Marg. For senior citizens 5 minutes. 5. Foods- just wow, people like me who eats less, beware, the quantity is huge. In a nutshell I will stay again there.
Had a very comfortable and clean stay in this hotel for five nights. Was completely touched to know that their housekeeping consists of only three staffs and to me they looked well over 50 yet the rooms were clean and airy. I looked around the city for other rooms as well but none other hotels of the similar range price came even close to satisfying me. Most were damp, bad views or no views at all, and some hotels more expensive that this had mold on their walls. Given the history and age of this hotel, it is really well kept. I just wish they had electric kettle in the room. Foodwise I have nothing to complain about. Came to find out that Snow Lion restaurant is highly considered in Gangtok. Good stay from couples to family to big groups.
Stayed here on business and all I can say is it reminds of of those old shabby hotels that used to exist in London around Victoria. Tiny dirty rooms and shabby interiors and rather surly staff. I can't recommend it at all, I've read reviews of the food and I won't eat here either. I'll take myself off down to MG Mar and hopefully eat street food Next visit to Gangtok I'll need to find a cleaner and tidier place than this. Sorry Tibet. Smarten up or you'll lose a lot of Western business.
Went for dinner with a local friend & his family. The ambience is great - typical Tibetan artwork & motifs on walls. The food was served promptly and was very good. Specially liked their fish dish - three treats or something like that. Momos are also very good. As evening progressed, the place became quite crowded, an endorsement to its popularity. The only issue was that the tables are placed closely.
