Aniruddha from Ganpatipule, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 4/5 Service Quality: 4/5 Dining Quality: 3/5 Cleanliness: 4/5

The hotel wishes to be a five star property but it has some to go before it gets there. Since these are independant villas surrounded by greenary it has problems of ants and insects getting into villas. A good pest control can easily solve this problem. The dining area needs to be air conditioned. Food quality can be better. Problem of flies here too. UV fly catchers are inexpensive investment, but will improve overall hygine at the restaurant. Mantainance of rooms is tardy. Our Air conditioner was a bit noisy though tolerable. but if is left unattended it is going to be disruptive. Bathroom accsesories were broken, tiles broken and plumbing needs urgent attendance.

Staycation in Ganpatipule Staycation in Ganpatipule

by wannabemaven on February 22, 2017

Ganpatipule was my first trip for the year 2017 and I stayed at the Blue Ocean Resort and Spa by Apodis...the year couldnt have started on a better note. It was an out and out Staycation at Blue Ocean. The villa style rooms looked really cute, although they have executive wings too. I took a property show around and it was huge - with two restaurants, a swimming pool, kids pool with water slides, business centre, yoga room, gym, jacuzzi, spa and, hold your breath, private access to the Malgund beach. I visited the Ganpatipule beach and, trust me; Malgund is far better, cleaner and quieter. The property also has a temple on the hill top and I recommend guests to spend the evenings there to watch the sunset and enjoy the stunning view of the beach town. During my two nights stay at the property, I literally dragged myself out of the resort to explore the town. I had preferred to just stay in the resort which was a world in itself. My time was mostly spent reading and relaxing under the beach-side gazebo that had a breathtaking view of the sea...even saw three dolphins jumping to the tunes of the waves. The beach is clean with crystal clear water...thankfully Ganpatipule is among the few beach-side towns with white powdery sand. The staff was friendly and thoughtful to pack me some dinner for my train journey back home. There was no network connectivity and wi-fi is available only in the restaurant and lobby, but Im told that the resort is working to have this sorted. Although, it didnt make much of a difference to me as it gave me a chance to spend some me time. Overall, its been a memorable experience and Id definitely recommend a stay here. Note: I was a solo female traveller.

A romantic weekend - on d beach and midst of gardens (amba wadi). A romantic weekend - on d beach and midst of gardens (amba wadi).

The resort is situated at one of the best beach in the area. Its a very big property and provides various options to spend 2 days with leisure. I stayed here with my family (wife and 11yr son) for 2 nights. Given an option, I would have extended my stay for 3rd day. Each villa is big and has small garden area with sit-outs. The room (Executive Villa) was spacious and big- we felt that it's much superior than what it appeared in the photographs. We loved the layout of the room - a walking closet and the glassdoor shower room spacious enough for the couple to enjoy THE moments of togetherness. To end the day in a romantic way, we have option to enjoy the sunset either at the shacks located on the beach or visit the Ganesh temple at the top of the hill (within the resort) with panoramic view of the beach line. For kids also there is enough of options to keep themselves bz - a water park, ride bi-cycles or have fun at the play area. There is enough separation of villas and its decorated with beautiful gardening - variety of plants. The main restaurant provides descent enough options in the menu for lunch and dinner - we tried chinese for lunch and roti-sabji with Paneer Tikka starter for the dinner. Paneer was prepared very well with mouthwatering taste n the smell of tandoor. Staff is courteous and prompt to assist. The beach side restaurant serves only finger-food and drinks. It would have been an amazing experience if they provide full course dinner with candle light and live music over there. Or, have dinning arrangement on the poolside as well. Needless to say that it would have made the dream come-true kind of experience for us :-). Other suggestions is to have some hammocks placed on the beachside - one would love to read a book in the shadow of coconut trees and with the sound of sea waves. For me and my family, it was lovely trip and worth the time and money we spent. We are satisfied with our decision about selection of the destination and resort for the stay. My itinerary was : Started from Mumbai at 5.45am, enroute from Mumbai via Pune, explored Chandoli wildlife sanctuary and reached the Ganpatiphule resort by 5.30pm. Spectator the sunset at the beach. Had a short sight-seeing tour next morning including Ganpatiphule Temple and drive upto Warey-Aarey beaches. It was a scenic drive of about 15km and had multiple stopovers to click pictures. Came back to resort and spend rest of the time at the property. Regarding Chandoli - it was not worth the de-tour of 2hrs in high-noon and hot weather. Avoid going there if your destination is at Ratnagiri/Chiplun.

"Awesome Resort, Great food, Superb hospitality"

We stayed at the resort from February 19th 2017 to February 21st, 2017. Warm welcome by Mr. Sanjay Samrit - Manager, Ms Poonam- Receptionist, Mr. Sayyed and Mr. Madan-Captain at the restaurant (Specially attended us for the Jain Food). Had a great time with family. The rooms are spacious and clean with tropical and sea view. Relaxed at the rooms on personal shacks provided tn the room balcony. Enjoyed the quality breakfast and lunch with prompt in room dining facility. They provided fresh food for my 2 year old baby which she loved a lot. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing with the choice of wide spread ala-carte menu. Really good staff at the restaurant and they attended every guest personally. Always smiling and happy to help. Housekeeping is really good and they continuously maintain the resort, hence no issues of mosquitoes and insects. We enjoyed swimming pool and kids pool which is a good attraction at the resort for kids. Simple rides with fun. Kids don't wish to come out of the pool. The approach road to the beachfront is lush green (enjoy with bike ride available at resort) and towards the beach you get personal shacks and sitting area fully covered with light music where you can chill with friends and family. Very clean and maintained. You can order lot many things from the widespread menu and enjoy the sunset. We did not use the spa facilities but am sure it will be superb.

I stayed at the resort for 2 days with my family in January 2017 in Tropical Garden view villa no. 16. The check-in was fast and the staff was really very welcoming. Villa was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was ok but food quality at restaurant is very good. Resort has private beach with a huge garden, beach side restaurant (only for starters and drinks) and beach side Sukho thai spa. We enjoyed 2 evening at beach and took the spa. Overall very good four star property for family on busy weekends.

Demo Trip Sea view rooms are good - but the property being built next to it kills some of the charm. The beach side cafe hardly serves anything.
