Poorly maintained Hotel Poorly maintained Hotel

by MaaGandhi on December 1, 2015

This is a poorly maintained Hotel. The rooms are small and stuffy in the first floor. On opening it smelled and damp and they put some room spray which stayed for a while. thats all. Between two rooms in the first floor there is a dormitary. Its been occupied by many men. Their washroom is at the end of the corridor outside and they have to cross our room and go each time. They kept the window open and sleeping on the floor and put clothes to wash on the corridor walls and accumulated their cheppals outside the room. Each time we need to cross that dormitary to come down for restaurant or going out. Very inconvenient arrangement. Also the men are allowed to booze in the Hotel premises in the open (there is no bar). Its just a lodge and just focus on money making not clients comfort or safety. Also it is away from the temple and beach. Will not go again here.

Not a hotel!!! Not a hotel!!!

Wish I've read these reviews before entering this hotel. I've reached Ganpatipule without booking hotel in advance, thought would expore and book there itself. But when we reached on 20'th June 2015 it was raining so heavily there, so we just took this hotel which was nearest to bus stand. We took a cottage, which looked nice and tidy. It was still raining outside and we thought we'll have nice rainy holiday. But the rain wouldn't stop, it kept on raining continuously, water entered into some of the adjacent rooms, we were considering ourselves lucky as our cottage was slightly elevated level, but then there was water leakage from roof top. One of the bed was completely soaked up in water. When we complaint and asked for another cottage which wasn't occupied, hotel manager said he can't give that instead he can put new bed and keep it away from place where it was leaking. Fortunately, intensity of rain reduced by evening and we could breath a sigh of relief. On the next day, there was no water in the toilet/bath, when I asked manager he said there is no power, when I asked to start the generator, he said they don't have fuel to start it at the moment. When I shouted, how can I live without water, they give me water in buckets. There is no room service, no telephone. Theres one restaurant in the hotel, initially when we placed order they served it in our room but later they said we'll have to go to restaurant as they don't serve int he room. In all, its a pathetic hotel, enter at your own risk!! For the fellow travellers I would suggest don't stay in Ganpatipule, its not as such tourist place, instead stay in Ratnagiri. There are plenty of state transport buses that you can take to reach Ganpatipule in the morning and leave by evening.

Good people. Good value for money. Good people. Good value for money.

I highlight a specific experience. I left the camera charger in the room. It was safe with the owner and they also helped to return it back. Readily accessible, on the main road, about 1.5km away from the temple. Hence get rid of the traffic issue. Variety of rooms are available. Cleanliness is ok. May be you have to ask for it. The management & the staff are co-operative. Good parking space. Some of the drawbacks are; away from beach, food better options near temple, for room service, you need to match tune with the attached restaurant staff.

Demo Trip Cottages are nice. Budget rooms on first floor are good economical option.
