Our 8th year of staying and you once again a great holiday.
Angela's is situated in the quieter part of Candolim, near Kingfisher Villa, but still within easy walking distance to many lovely restaurants, and of course the beach.
The rooms and surroundings of the guest house are kept immaculately. Rooms have a seperate kitchen area with a full size fridge. The studio which is very roomy has easy chairs, coffee table, twin or double bed, wardrobe with lockable safe and sattelite TV. The balcony is spacious with plenty of room for a washing line.
Rooms are cleaned and bedding and towels changed every other day.
Pick up and return to the airport can be arranged, lovely air conditioned taxi with a safe driver.
For bookings and enquiries please contact Arthur at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We needed a room for the last day of our recent three week holiday due to our hotel not being able to guarantee a room and check out being 1200.
Having read about this little guest house on trip adviser we attended and spoke to Arthur and arranged for a room and for a taxi transfer later in the evening.
We checked in around 0930, the room was spotless with ample space, large bed, good wetroom and a lockable safe, wardrobe.
A sunny balcony and a small kitchen area with kettle and large fridge.
Arthur was extremely pleasant and easy to deal with and we were taken to the airport in an air conditioned vehicle, well driven and arrived at the airport all in good time with no stress.
The only issue for some may be that the room was not air conditioned but in a great location.
We have just returned from 27nights staying at this little guest house.
Arthur maintains the rooms to an exceptionally high standard. Rooms are huge and are cleaned and towels and bedding are changed every other day and are spotless. The bed was also huge and although the mattress was thinner than we are used to we slept well. We e mailed Arthur before arriving and requested extra pillows which were on our bed when we got there. The fridge is large and there is a sink with a marble run which can be set up as a kitchen. There was a variety of crockery and cutlery already there and we took our own travel kettle and toaster and it worked very well. There was a constant flow of hot water in the wet room, which again was cleaned superbly. We moved to the sunny side of the house on the right and our balcony overlooked Shivers restaurant, which had
live singers on most nights or music which we could sit on our balcony with a drink after a night out and enjoy before settling for the night. The lockable safe in the lockable wardrobe was excellent and there was always a member of the family on site so we were not worried about leaving our
valuables and possessions. There was also 2 easy chairs and a coffee table in the room which was an added bonus.
Arthur and his wife Sandra are lovely people, very helpful and always had time to talk to us or help us.
Arthur will meet you from the airport on arrival and also take you back to catch your
return flight and is a very careful driver, we felt very safe in his air conditioned spacious car
The location of the guest house is at the quieter end of
Sinquerim and there are many restaurants within walking distance. Also the Tiger bar is right over the road which also serves meals. This was great when we didn't want to go too far after a busy day on the beach! Lots of brits use it and there was always some one to chat to. If you want the busier night life of Candolim, a tuck tuck only coast 100rps, or if you are feeling energetic its about 15minutes walk with restaurants, shops and bars en route.
We as always had a wonderful holiday and am very glad we chose to stay here.
we stayed here for 15 nights middle of January 2014,having been to goa for the last nine years we normally opt to stay in a hotel.however on this occasion decided to try a guest house for a change.it is a small guest house with just a hand full of rooms.some are large studio rooms(1100 rupees a night), others one bedroom apartments(1200 a night).we stayed in a studio room, and found to be large in size,at no extra cost a tv,safe in lockable wardrobe, fridge and kettle.each room as a balcony.no swimming pool, and no breakfast included, but plenty of places to eat near by.the apartments are even bigger, and include two balconies, sitting room, kitchen and bedroom.one thing to note, first toilet roll provided, then you supply your own.once again not a problem, stocked up from elephant shop( four rolls for 50 rupees).the rooms are spotlessly clean, and are cleaned every other day.bed linen and towels changed then.the guest house is run by Arthur and his mum angela, two lovely people.the guest house is the far end of candolim, across from tiger bar.either a 15 min walk to candolim centre,or jump on a bus(10 rupees),or take a taxi(between 100 to 150 rupees).the tiger bar is run by a lovely man called francis, and he sells reasonable priced kingfisher, just 85 rupees for a large one.
We have had flats/rooms with Arthur and his Mum for years and they are brilliant. Nothing is to much trouble, he even picks you up in the taxi from the airport. And he they are HONEST.
Everything is clean but basic. You get clean clean sheets every other day and the showers are always hot. We bring our own kettle and bowls and have breakfast of cornflakes and tea on the balcony, every morning. great. We are booked for 2014
Good luck, they are great.
