Azaya Beach Resort

Stay here just for the private plunge pool. But the food in the resort and even the shacks on the beach, cost bombs which is not worth it. Make sure you have a self drive car or cab to go out and have your meals.

My husband and I traveled to India from the USA to attend the wedding of a friend. My birthday happened to be at the end of our trip, so we decided to finish our vacation with a 2 night/3 day stay at the Azaya Beach Resort. The check in process was very easy and we were given complimentary beers while we waited. We stayed in a plunge pool with a king bed, which was absolutely beautiful. As a side note, although I dont believe they have an official stated position on being a LGBT friendly establishment, we were not questioned on our desire to share a bed like we had been at other hotels in India. We also felt quite comfortable and welcome in every space at the resort. Since this was the last leg of our trip we had quite a bit of laundry. I simply called the front desk and a staff member promptly came and took our laundry from us. We were not expecting to get our laundry back until the following day because we checked in later in the afternoon, but to our pleasant surprise, our laundry was finished and back in our room within a few hours. That first evening we enjoyed a sunset stroll on the beautiful beach and enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Blue Iris restaurant by the beach, which I highly recommend. The following day, after enjoying the complementary breakfast buffet, the resort arranged a car to take us to Colva for a bit of shopping. We then spent the afternoon lounging and having lunch by the very clean and beautiful main pool and then spent some time by the beach. Upon returning to our room we discovered a cake with Happy Birthday written on it that the hotel staff had left. We did not tell them it was my birthday or ask for anything to celebrate, so we really appreciated this very kind and thoughtful gesture. Everything in our room was quite clean and well kept. The plunge pool was very nice, although the water was a bit on the chilly side. We took advantage of the very reasonably priced in-room bar and liked the range of foods and beverages offered. If you are coming from the US and expect that like most places in India everything will be less expensive than you are used to because of the extremely reasonably priced rooms, I will say that the services, food, and just about everything else are about the same cost as what you would pay at a similar resort in the US. I did however find everything at the resort to be well worth the costs. Overall, I would highly recommend the Azaya Beach Resort. From their well kept rooms, public spaces, and beach, to their exemplary service and personal touches, your stay there it is certain to be a highlight of your trip to India.

we were there in jan (2020) this is a beautiful resort. The beach is quiet and clean. Staff are very helpful. Rooms are nice and clean. Food is beautiful and so is the pool. When we were there the weather was pretty hot and hence my family enjoyed the beach and the pool. Just one thing to be mindful is that - down the beach there are a lot of stray dogs. We seen a little boy got bitten by these dogs. If you have have little ones just be mindful of these dogs.

We just spent 6 nights here. The highlights are a very nice pool and clean beach. Breakfast is also very good. The area that really needs improvement is the cleanliness of the rooms and housekeeping. Rooms are not cleaned well each day. Overall I would say this hotel is not 5* but more around a 4*. However regardless of rating they need better housekeeping

Absolutely amazing week at Azaya! We stayed in a plunge pool room which was gorgeous! And the main pool and beach were also amazing to relax at. Loved having a gym to work out in too. The breakfast buffets were incredible with lots of Indian and Western options and dishes made to order! The staff were all very attentive and accommodating- we were given early check in and late check out due to our flight times. And they had a surprise birthday cake in our room to celebrate my husbands birthday! Overall amazing week here!
