A group of 6 of us checked in on the 27/12/16 and were met on reception at 2am by a top quality reception boy named Qadri . He was excellent and quickly checked us into our rooms. Next morning we attended the front desk to exchange some money only to be told come back later, after our 3rd time attending the unhelpful and downright rude reception girls eventually gave us 80 when we asked for 100 and all they said was that's all you can have. We found a solution to the money situation by changing ours at a travel agency on the way to the beach. This happened every single day for 14 days and same as trying to get wifi cards. On New Year's Eve 4 friends arrived and we attended the gala dinner which was set out beautifully, unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired, all dishes were cold and the farce of buying tokens for beer was laughable. But we had a good night and mingled with lots of Indian people and staff. By the end of the night we were sick of buying overpriced alcohol with silly tokens. After a lot of Indians had left a waiter came and asked if we wanted any alcohol and he produced old monk rum and vodka and coke in a black bag in which we paid the waiter and he pocketed to himself. Now all 10 of us were merry and in good spirits but let me tell you in no way did my friends get ASSISTED BACK TO THIER ROOM BY MANAGEMENT as per the reply to m Walsh when her husband had an accident when he slipped on a towel outside his bathroom and put his foot through the GLASS bathroom door. The hotel wouldn't get a doctor and so my friend had to attend a hospital in Margoa for 14 stitches to his foot, with absolutely no help from the hotel management and no help from the Thomas cook Rep .My father in law also slipped on tiled floor on towel a couple of days before. Our rooms were really nice and spacious and breakfast was ok but sometimes full with Indian people and usually there was no cups or cutlery. There was a few good staff in and around the place Qadri on reception, Deepak on breakfast and waiting duty and Himanshu on the bar. The bar is ridiculously overpriced compared with anywhere else in colva, 250 rupees for a large kingfisher bottle where as they are 90-100 rupees all over colva and benaulim and colva. The hotel could be amazing but the management are poor and need training on customer service. There are no tables and chairs to sit around the pool during the day so you have to go to the beach to have a great day. The front desk girls are less than useless for getting money and wifi cards. Wifi was poor, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. The Thomas cook Rep called jack was useless also, didn't seem interested in doing his job, and never called in to see my friend who had 2 days of bedrest with his foot elevated. Although my wife and I loved the hotel and position, the little things spoilt our holiday. We used to walk to the beach every day and visit a shack on sernabatim beach called cecielias which was the highlight of our holiday. All in all this could be a gem with a few alterations including training for reception staff, beer pricing being more competitive, free wifi as we get it free at every shack we went to,
This place is really very nice.Very beautiful resort. A huge swimming pool in the center of the resort make it look more beautiful. Great hospitality. The welcome drink was really very nice. The rooms are designed so well that you will get complete privacy. The room interior is ok. The resort is 2 min walk from the beach.
Breakfast has good variety as well. Food is not that good.
But in evening they have beautiful setup to have candlelight dinner with live grill &
live music. Overall the place is really good & i would definitely recommend to spend a day here.
Arrived at the hotel at 03,30am. check in was fairly quick vent down for breakfast, what a disappointment wit loads of tables used together looked like a transport cafe, and as far as food was concerned it was catered far more for local people than europeans. But if you like curry 3 times a day 7 days a week then this place is for you. This place is not a 4* as advertised, it is very tired looking an need a complete refurbishment in restaurant area. Pool area nice and clean, pool staff always happy and very helpful MUST give all the staff 5* for the effort and spread they put on for XMAS day food was amazing and plentyful
Be very careful if you stay here as the hotel does not have safety glass in its bathroom doors as we found out when my husband slipped on the mat they had left on the floor and put his foot through it. 14 stitches later a trip to hospital & 3 doctors visits and the hotel haven't even acknowledged or apologised.
The manager is rude and arrogant, the staff unhelpful & unfriendly with the exception of a young man who's name begins with q. They have consistently been unhelpful. It's difficult to get money changed, as you have to come at times to suit them
The management at this hotel all need to attend a training course on customer service & health and safety.
The drinks are more than double the beach. The hotel closes the pool area and removes the sun beds when there is a function. So it's paying guests are forced to visit the beach.
I would not recommend this hotel.
We stayed over Christmas through till new years eve. Brilliant place! Only 5 minute walk to Sernabatim beach, which is among'st the quietest beaches on South Goa. A 10 minute walk in either direction on the beach will take you to the busier areas. Only a 5 minute tuk tuk ride to Benelium crossroads (shopping, money change etc). Hotel is lovely, room was large, comfy massive bed and had a nice big bathroom with a decent shower.Room was cleaned and restocked daily. All staff are so friendly and polite, from the gate security chaps, right through to the cleaners. I feel a special mention must go to the front desk supervisor, Qadri. This charming and friendly young man helped make are stay an amazing one! He is a credit to Baywatch!
Any negatives? Only minor, but it does need mentioning, you have to pay for Wifi daily if you want it. Seeing that the rating for this hotel is high, I feel this minor cost to the hotel should be included, especially as the majority of the beach shacks provide Wifi free.
If you fly home to the UK, your plane most likely leaves in the early hours of the morning and you will be collected from the hotel at about 10pm. You have to check out at 11am, so a long time without a room, if you want to keep your room, they want a full days extra room tariff, otherwise you will have to use the shower and toilet in the games room area. Not ideal.
Would we come back? YES YES YES, just sort the minor issues and it would be four yes's! Loved it.
