Location is great, centre to everything. We stayed in a studio room which was of average size, bathroom a good size. we found a stay here very comfortable and relaxing. This accommodation has a lift covering 3 floors and a small, clean swimming pool and garden. This was quiet and relaxing, overall enjoyed our stay
We are just back from 4 weeks at the Philomena and very much enjoyed our stay here, which was our first time in an apartment as opposed to a hotel. The room was very good, not as large as the rooms we usually have at the Osborne but that was more than made up for by the huge terrace that wrapped around our apartment. We really loved the terrace which was quite secluded and had a covered kitchen area with a large gas hob. It was very nice cooking our own breakfast and sitting out on the terrace. There was a single door and glass sliding doors leading onto the terrace from the apartment. The room was kept clean by very pleasant housekeepers with linen changed every three days, which was quite adequate for us. We do have to say that the mattress was very uncomfortable, it was one of the coir mattresses but when Kirsty asked us for an honest opinion of the apartment, we mentioned this and she said she would recommend to the owner that it was replaced. There was also a foam sofa bed which was comfortable. Electricals in the apartment have been replaced, there were 3 good fans, an AC unit and an electric supply back up (we had a lot of power cuts but the back up clicked in immediately, if it where not for the AC unit peeping we would not have known there was a cut). We also had a TV with Sky but we did not use this. The shower room was really good, plenty of room and lots of hot water. Wifi in the apartment was excellent, as good as I have at home which is a major factor for me being away for four weeks. As well as the hob in the outside area, inside we had a large fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. The washing machine was a real bonus, it was easy to use and worked very well, we had a large clothes airer on the terrace. There is a pool but I am not commenting on that as we did not use it but there were people on beds around it most days and they seemed happy.
We spent 19 days in Casa Philomena and thoroughly enjoyed it. Kirsty has lovely staff working for her,( although we didn't see much off her) as we didn't have anything to complain about . Joe and Harish the cleaners done a great job. And the security staff where always friendly and polite. We had a very comfortable stay Will definitely stay again
Just got back from Goa ,stayed at the Philomena for just on three weeks we were in room 306 on the third floor it was very spacious with two bathrooms a large living area and a decent size bedroom ,It was cleaned every day with towels changed when required ,at the rear is a nice little garden area for that quiet relaxing time also with a small pool for when it gets too hot , the room we had could do with a little updating but saying that would stay again .
Have just got home from our stay at casa philomena where we stayed for 3 weeks. We arrived at 2am and security were ready with our key and showed us to our room. Room was lovely cozy and clean just like the pictures,it had everything you need.. big tv and bed, kettle microwave toaster ect. Only thing I missed was wi-fi but just used it in restaurants and shacks. Room boys very nice always said good morning and asked if we wanted our room cleaned, met kirsty a few days after arriving she came to make sure everything was ok and to let her know if there was any problems or if we needed anything which was nice. Only a 5 minute walk from st antony's chapel and pretty central to everything. Overall very happy we booked here and will be booking again for next year :-).
