The rooms are really good, the value meal also really good even though its a little costly..the beaach is just a walk away.. and it is a drive away from colva and benaulim beaches too! Good service! I would prefer this over the verca beach resort which is like 1-2 km from this resort... the beach connected to this resort has many options for water sports and it also has paragliding and all that, so if you are here with your friends/family it would be a nice place to enjoy !
First of all this property is located in Varca, (south goa) which is very far from the centre (approx 25km).... and the taxi system works like mafia... every ride u take from here will cost u 1,500-2,500rs....
carry a room freshener if u entering to this property, the rooms stinks like a rat hole...
There breakfast costs 1.300rs per head which is disgusting, they play a quantity game rather than quality... the balcony's in the room are so small u can only take ur fart out...,There are hundreds of better places in goa for ur stay... I recommend u not to come here and ruin ur vacations....I had booked this place for 3nights but ended up leaving this place after 2nights....
These people have few games, which only there staffs play around with and hesitate to give it to customers... I seriously don't understand this,,,They have few cycles available. So thought will go out for a morning ride...I go to the reception by 8am for the , they say sir u have to wait for the watchman as he has the keys...he will be here by 10. Why????
I guess the only people who come to this property are the pitty members who have no other go... after buying there memberships
Club mahindra, I will never step into ur properties again in my life and will also recommend the same to family & friends.
We stayed here in December and were delighted with the food. The buffet is worth the price if you have family members who enjoy their food. On the other hand I found their kids club a bit of a joke. Any really interesting(eg: air hockey) or electronic games the children want to play, needs extra payment. This is ridiculous especially for the kids staying there all day, it beats the purpose of a resort!
The rooms were also disappointing. When we checked in both rooms allotted to us we're in poor shape, smelly, unkept and rather appalling. After much complaining and toing and froing they finally gave us better rooms although far into the resort and away from the pool of club house. This affected us because we had elderly family members who didn't appreciate the extra walking.
The pool is great for the kids and it is close to the beach. It's a good place to stay in but I would be wary of the rooms they give you and would recommend that you give clear directions on what kind of rooms you want.
We had been to the Club Mahindra Varca a couple of times and hence decided to try the Emerald Palms this time around. We had planned a 6 nights holiday and now we realise that this is not a place for a long holiday. If you are looking at a 2 to 4 nights holiday then this is okay. Anything more than that, then you should think of breaking it across two resorts. Now, since both, Varca and Emerald, are Club Mahindra properties, comparing these comes naturally. But I suggest not to do that, as the Varca property is way better than this one.
I was in Goa to usher in the new year.
Check in: As with any Club Mahindra property, this is almost always a great experience. You are made to feel welcome and you can relax in the reception area, sipping onto a cool drink while the formalities are completed. I asked whether I have a choice of rooms. I was told that since this is peak period
The room: I had booked a 1 bedroom apartment. We were allotted a room that faced the back side of the property. My suggestion is to go for rooms that look into the property. Also my room had a tiny balcony. I mean really tiny. There was a cloth hanger there and that meant no one could stand there. The room's location was a bit of a let down as it quite to a corner. Now coming to the amenities in the room. The room had a sofa bed in the front room a couple of easy chairs, and a TV. Along with cupboards and a safe. The front room had an attached bathroom as well. The bedroom came with a walkin closet (this was nice) and an attached bathroom. Two bathrooms make it convenient when you are travelling with kids. The rooms are quite spacious. Overall a decent experience with the rooms, except for the location of the rooms.
The food: The hotel has a decent sized restaurants. On most days we went for the fun dining as this is always convenient when with families. But the A-la-carta menu is not bad either. The food selection and choice was immense (Club Mahindra never fails you in this department). Plus they had food festival ongoing for each day as a run-up to the new year celebrations. So that meant a different cuisine each day (Goan, Awadhi, Hyderabadi, Mumbai etc). Pretty neat. Vikram, the chef there made sure that he speaks with each family and gets feedback. They will make every attempt to make this a pleasant experience for you. Loved the food and the service.
The Amenities: The resort has a small swimming pool, a spa and an activity center. The activity center has video games, table tennis and classes for kids. It also has a fish therapy corner. (Didn't try this. I can eat fish, but couldn't watch fish eating off me :)). Anyways, the staff is helpful and will assist with water sports activities as well. We tried beach parasailing and banana ride. The beach activities are slightly expensive and the timing is too short really. But then it's Goa and that's how it will be whereever you go... The resort lacks grounds and open area which is abundant in the Varca resort. Also the beach is a good 900 meters from the resort. We walked this distance, but it is not good enough like a beach facing resort. Also the taxi outside will charge you Rs. 100 to go and Rs. 200 to come back. That makes it probably the costliest taxi ride in India. :) If you have your own vehicle then you can always drive and park next to the beach. The beach has adequate parking and it's quite safe.
So overall, a decent resorts. Good staff. Good food. Lacks play areas / grounds. Away from the beach. Limited options on what you can do inside the resort.
facilities and the property is good. I went there as a guest and stayed 5th to 12th Jan 2017. the only option for transport is the taxi stand outside the hotel and booking is to be done at the hotel reception, there is no other choice. I tried calling agencies renting cars for self driving. but the local taxi agency does not allow that. and this happens for guests at emerald palms only . that is what I was told. I had eventually to pay daily 4 to 6 thousand for taxi.
rest is all good.
