Not a bad word to say. Clean big spacious rooms, excellent customer service, felt safe and secure. There was always someone available to help. My only slight criticism might be no wifi in rooms and very very bad wifi in the areas we could get it, BUT I wasn't using it too much - just to check in with home however it may hinder anyone on business etc. Overall amazing experience, can't wait to come back
This is located right on the beach . I was in super awe of this resort as soon as I entered . This resort has its own charm , it manages to maintain its calm even though being located on the busiest streets of goa Baga .
The food is amazingly good . The facilities are exceptional and the staff is very friendly and helpful . The proximity to the beach is something you cherish throughout the trip
I would rate this hotel a five starrred and definitely suggest anyone for the same
The Colonial Santa Maria or CSM as referred to is one of the finest hotels in North Goa. It is built more like a resort than a hotel. Lots of open green space, independent bungalow structure, two swimming pools, spread out facilities gives you a feeling and experience of a five star resort. The hotel has a main property and in addition they have also acquired property opposite to the main gate. The other property is cramped, although not far, will give you a feeling of staying in a secluded 2 star facility. Ensure that you get a room in the main hotel area. Parking is not an issue. You could park your vehicle inside the resort along the pathway to the beach.
The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is walkable distance to Tito's lane, very close to the clubs and restaurants. And, this is a beach resort. There is a path from the hotel which extends to the beach. This is a great advantage as you could walk to the beach any time of the day. Also, this beach area is not too crowded. There is a taxi stand just outside the main gate of the resort or you could walk 2 min out and catch autos for going around. The Baga beach is about 7-8 min ride away. The Calangute beach is about 10-12 min away, and will cost you around 150 INR by auto. There are plenty of places around for street shopping. There is a Tibet bazar just 2 mins out.
The hotel rooms are quite good. They are decently spacious with a balcony or a seating area. The rooms could accommodate an extra bed without getting cramped. All the key amenities like mini bar, coffee maker, safe locker, led TV, study desk, complimentary water bottles, spacious sofa etc. were provided. The bathrooms were quite spacious with a separate shower area. The breakfast spread was quite large with great choice of Indian and western mix. The food quality was decent, though the breakfast area is not spacious enough to accommodate the rush hours. The spa is located closer to the beach area and is very decently priced. Although, the level of the service provided was average. The Wi-Fi is not available in the rooms. However, you could surf for free at the reception area.
The staff was very attentive and courteous. They were very hospitable, very caring, always willing to help. The front desk and reception were very welcoming and friendly. Overall, I would say it is a great place to stay in North Goa, especially if you want to walk around or just laze around the resort. I will most certainly return for my next stay.
Just returned from this resort excellent is the best way to describe this place every single employee from the owner to the handyman nothing was a problem and I mean nothing they could not have done anymore for you if they tried excellent service the meals and prices-where excellent
