It was located at good place.Nice ambience. But I am not hapy with their service. For water and cleaning the room I had to call them 4 to 5 times. There were no covered car parking but open parking was fine enough and it was under Hotel ambience so it was safe. Overall it was good but service was below an average hotel.

This hotel is located 1 km away from the beach. My experience in this hotel was Okay. The thing which I didn't like was the staff behavior they are not at all cooperative. Therefore I would think before recommending this hotel to anyone.

Access: The hotel is somewhat hidden behind houses and finding it was a tad difficult. Parking: There is limited parking for 10-15 cars inside the premises but since I was always lucky to find the parking inside, not sure what I would have done otherwise. Room: Rooms are very specious and bed is really nice. It does not submerge when you sit on it as it is firm but soft as well. Bathroom is specious. I did not find control for the exhaust and at times, it was difficult to remove the smell as you could not control anything. Dining: We only had breakfast at the hotel. The spread is very broad with indian choices, continental, bakery items, fruits etc. But The taste of indian preparations was ordinary. But as multiple options were available, we did not feel deprived. Service and Staff: The staff was always courteous and wished whenever you met them. Just one issue, on first night, I called reception and asked for a blanket which never arrived. Next day, I went to the front desk and asked for it and they provided it promptly. Another small issue, they had mentioned newspaper in room amenities, but I did not get it on any of the days. Nor did I see anyone else reading/getting it.

A conveniently located. Need improvement on availabilitygood 4 star property, of basic amenities as several reminders are to given to the concerned department. A kids room would have been an added advantage as for kids only swimming pool is the entertainment source. Staff is Courteous and helpful. Overall good experience.

A tale of two halves A tale of two halves

by BeeMatheson on February 23, 2017

Pluses: The food and beverage is managed well , in particular the breakfast. The staff are very attentive and helpful, with many thanks to Sandeep for looking after us so well during our recent 2 week stay. Excellent choice of dishes and is there is something unavailable on the buffet that day you can ask the chef to prepare it..all good. Negatives: On arrival at 3 am we found our bed had been used and on further inspection the mattress cover was blood stained and the mattress below was filthy. no pillow protectors, so you are putting your head on someone elses sweat! We had to wait for 2 hours before the mattress was replaced and clean bedding found. When we met with the Housekeeping Manager the next day we were offerred compensation of a plate of biscuits and 4 pieces of fruit. The housekeeping is well below the expected standards of any hotel, but especially one that is sold as 4 star.. Our experience of the housekeeping manager was very poor. He later insinuated that I had caused the tears in the sheets!

Friendliest staff Friendliest staff

Lovely looking hotel a short walk from main road in Candolim near to shops and restaurants, approximately half mile walk to beach. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially in the dining room, they couldn't do enough to was good quality though average variety, breakfast had the most choices though evening meal was a bit limited and mostly Indian food, and there were only ever half a dozen couples there in the evening. Drinks at the bar were very expensive, offers were advertised but tax and service charges added. Rooms very comfortable and air conditioning excellent but it was hit and miss whether the cleaners left towels or not and sometimes had to ring twice to remind them. Swimming pool excellent and manned by 2 pool attendants always who found a bed and layed nice hotel towels out for you, very attentive. Overall very nice hotel

Our 4th Stay - Love This Place Our 4th Stay - Love This Place

by Jan W on February 22, 2017

This was the fourth time we have stayed at this hotel across 5 years and we ;ove it. It is a quiet oasis in the madness that we all love in Candolim. The rooms face onto a central courtyard with beautiful gardens and a swimming pool. The air conditioning is lovely and quiet and the rooms well insulated against noise so, with the lovely comfortable "European" matresses on the beds you are assured a q good nights sleep. The Wifi is good but it can slow down at busy times - I would make best use of it early in the morning when it was very fast. Having been visiting this place for 5 years (our first visit it was called The Girasol and it was only just opened, a brand new bulld) we felt certain that some aspects of the place would now be getting a bit tired but we were wrong. They are very quick to keep things maintained and cleaning non stop. The only maintenance issue we encountered was a problem with some of the buttons not working very well on our room safe. We thought this would be a massive problem to fix so we soldiered on with it until it became too frustrating and mentioned it at the front desk. Within 10 minutes of reporting the problem and engineer arrived at our room, and 20 minutes later it was working properly again. Brilliant! The choice of food is excellent. We only ate in one evening as there is far too much to tempt us outside of the hotel but we were always very pleased with the meals. There is such a wde choice of food for breakfast, full English breakfast, meats, cheeses, vegetables, cereal and toast and a good variety of Indian dishes too. All the staff bend over backwards to help you and it is always done with a smile

Our 2nd visit in 12 months but still room for further improvement Our 2nd visit in 12 months but still room for further improvement

by Thegirlswarrington on February 19, 2017

This is our 2nd visit in 12 months. We like the location of the hotel which is off the main road and in a quieter area of Candolim yet only a 10 minute walk to the beach and 5 minutes to the main resort road. The entrance road to the hotel which was full of pot holes has been resurfaced which makes it safer to walk on. Car parking is limited within the security barrier area of the hotel and the additional car park outside of the hotel is full of rubbish and looks smells awful, it gives a bad impression of the hotel as you drive up. Rooms are spacious with large comfy beds and all rooms currently have a balcony which either over looks the pool or gardens. It is also good to see the sunbed mattresses have been replaced since last year. On the downside there are still only 30 sunbeds around the pool and unless you are a very early riser you won't get a sunbed after 9.00am. We preferred the beach, so not a problem for us but might be for those with limited walking ability. The hotel now provides offers on most drinks and provides different entertainment throughout the week which we stayed and watched a couple of times. The garden area is lovely at night time if you want to sit and watch the evening entertainment and the gardens are well kept. Housekeeping still isn't great, floors are mopped but there are still problems with replacing towels with fresh ones each day, a call to housekeeping got this sorted but still a nuisance having to ring up nearly every other day for fresh towels. Fresh bedding is provided every 3 days. The shower and bathroom facilities really let the standard of the room down as they were both dirty and needed a good clean with bleach etc. The mould in the shower cubicle was really bad and the mirrors and toilet were not cleaned properly. There doesn't appear to be any supervision of the housekeeping staff, we watched one of the cleaners supposedly cleaning another guests bedroom but spent half of the time on his mobile phone! The restaurant has been extended and the service is so much better organised than last year which was shambolic! A special thanks again to Sandeep who is still doing a great job and also to Cheetan who also understands the concept of good customer service. We were upgraded to half board but only ate lunch/dinner in the restaurant a couple of times as the buffet was a bit repetitive and didn't cater for those who weren't able to eat the spicy foods. The breakfast selection was good with a variety of options to suit everyone including freshly made eggs and omelettes to order. Reception is a bit hit and miss, we asked 3 times for the bulb in the bathroom to be replaced, requested 3 times for an extra coffee cup in the room as there was only one, we also asked for someone to get the tv working as there are no instructions but 14 days later we were still waiting. Luckily I managed to work out the tv myself. It would be be good if instructions for the tv were provided in the hotel information book a copy of which is provided in each room. This year we weren't able to keep our room for our late checkout and despite our pick up by Thomas Cook not taking place until 22.40pm we had to vacate our room at 11.00am which was a nuisance. There is a room to leave luggage which is locked but we had to use the shower in the gym to get clean before our departure. The shower in the gym wasn't clean, stank of sewerage and the water flooded out of the shower room which meant you had to come out of the shower wearing just a towel into the full gym area and get changed in the toilet next door. The locks on both the shower room and toilet also were broken. This is totally unacceptable and needs addressing by the hotel management immediately. With a bit of extra attention on the standard of housekeeping and better training for reception staff the hotel would be so much better and would be deserving of it's advertised 4 star rating. I would still visit again, don't let my review put you off as the general standard of the hotel facilities are good but I wouldn't give the hotel a 4 star rating at best it is a 3 and take a scrubbing brush and a bottle of bleach with me next time.
