We have just checked out of The Country Inn and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The pool side room we booked had ice cold air conditioning and was fine for our needs, the bathroom could do with a bit of updating though. Buffet breakfast offered a good selection and staff were very attentive (We sat outside on the balcony). The hotel is well positioned for the town and the beach only a 10 minute walk away. We'd happily stay there again!
We stayed 'all inclusive' for convenience. You can enjoy rum, gin, vodka etc but only full sugar coke and sprite available, no tonic water. Sandeep, the barman is super helpful.
Rooms are comfortable with english plug sockets. Our towel rail kept falling off, and was never fixed properly. Many things around the hotel are broken, but things are rarely fixed. We arrived as friends to a double bed, this took two hours to rectify in middle of night.
Wifi is quite good all around hotel, but you need a new code every four days.
The pool is cloudy? Sunloungers (22 in total) and pool towels are not always available when needed. Never saw the pool being cleaned and witnessed two guest cut their foot in the water.
Restaurant food is good, but cheaper cuts of meat are used and it can get a bit repetitive. We were here during a large conference and the restaurant was too busy for hotel to cope at breakfast.
There is basic entertainment on 3 nights, but nothing (not even background music) at any other time.
Beach is 15 mins walk. Sunloungers are free as long as you purchase a couple of drinks. The food at the shacks on the beach is definitely worth a try.
All in all we found this hotel to be a little dirty, there is no pride in this character hotel and management have little knowledge about customer care. Its almost impossible to get a late check out, considering many flights leave in early hours, but the 'friends hotel' on the corner will let you have a room for the day for 20.
we had a three night stay here as part of tour of India. The Hotel was basic more 3* than 4*. The best element were the staff who were so friendly. However, from 0800 - 1330 and 1630 - 2030 the pool area was extremely noisy on all three days we were there. In addition there were only about 3 umbrellas around the pool to offer shade, which was no sufficient. Apart from breakfast we only had pizzas one lunch time but the food we had was of a good quality.
The hotel is very well located to the beach.
I would to thank the staff for the free upgrade.
Really great food at the restaurant.
Personally want to thank Rohit, Raja and Joana for giving a very good service,
Their courteous Ness made our days at the restaurant.
Thanks for everything.
We stayed for two days..an excellent property with many tourist attractions near by. Nice well laid out breakfast and dinner ....they had also arranged for a DJ....Nice rooms at reasonable rates....only drawback is availability of taxis for airport..specially if its early flights...monopoly of local operators spoil the overall Goa experience...both hotel or private taxi operators charge exorbitantly....
