First let me say that I thought I posted this review a year ago! I was remembering back on my amazing 5 week journey through India last year and wanted to see what I had said about my favorite hotel on my whole journey...and it wasn't here. So here is what I should have wrote a year ago: This place is top notch! When we arrived at the Hacienda we were booked into a smaller room at the back of the property. We had actually extended our stay here so we could have some down time (we had been changing hotels about every 2-3 days for about 2 weeks, so we needed a bot of a rest. So the room was nice. Very clean, had air conditioning and a nice bathroom with hot water. However, if two women were going to stay for nine days, it was going to be cramped. Plus we love being outdoors in the evenings, and this room didn't have a balcony or lani. So we decided the next morning to go explain pur situation to the front desk and see if there were any other rooms we could upgrade to. This is when we met Susan. I had read in other reviews about Susan, so I had I expectations that she would ensure we were taken care. Boy were we! Sharon had one deluxe sweet laft and told asked if we wanted to go check it out. It was beautiful! It had a living room, full kitchen, and seperate bedroom. It was right next to the pool and shaded by the 100 year old banyon tree!! Amazing! We felt like we were in a dream world. We told Susan we would take it and we negotiated a completely fair upgrade charge. The pool was perfect. The grounds are spotless. The staff is amazing and always smiling. We observed that Susan runs a tight ship because she cares about every guest's experience. On our last night in this wonderful resort/paradise we met Thomas. We sat on the front lani of the front office and talked to them both for hours. We wished we could have stayed longer. They felt as if we were their family. I highly reccomend this amazing spot. We walked to the beaches almost everyday. They are about an hour and the roads are scary. The little food place on the corner is so good! You'll know the one because it is packed with locals. I do suggest a scooter if you know how to ride one. It would have made exploring much easier. We just didn't want our first time riding scooters to be here. Its definitely for expert scooter drivers. The restaurant on the property is really great! And reasonably priced. I loved this olace and will be back someday!
