Firstly if you have mobility problems this hotel is not for you, from the car park at the rear, the hotel is accessed via some steep steeps, the front is accessed via a steep incline and yet more steps. But more to the point unless you are homeless or desperate avoid this hotel like the plague.... On checking in l was told where my room was, no mention where the bathroom or toilet was, l was left to find them on my own accord. The room was OK although how they managed to get a bed in it is beyond me, however my luck was in, there was a kettle and some tea, coffee, sugar and milk so l decided to make myself a cup of tea.... just as well l had a pen with me as there was no spoon, l decided to go downstairs and ask for one, disappointed again as there was a board telling me to telephone them, to much hassle l couldn't be bothered so reverted to the trusty pen. My room faced the main road, there was no double glazing and all l heard all night was the cars and the people next door (that's for further down this review), so much so that it was unbearable. With a street lamp directly outside my room l decided to close the curtains...ops they were hanging off the runners, the green garden wire holding them up had given up long ago.... so not only a very noisy night but a very bright one as well. The 3 individuals next door who where placed there by the local authorities (well that's what they told me) argued all night and started shouting at each other at 6:30 AM! Having only snatched a couple of hours sleep l decided to go for breakfast, at least it would be a break from the constant shouting, wrong answer, they were in the room above the breakfast room so l could still hear them... I ordered scrambled egg on toast which was served instantly! That because it was pre-made and heated up....yuk! This was the last nail in the coffin, l went upstairs got changed, l was about to leave when the 3 individuals from next door had the cheek to ask if l had any spare brew kit...l gave them everything and promptly left... I know some of you reading this will say a bed is a bed, that's fine as long as you manage to get some sleep in it, something that l did not. Take my advice you are better off sleeping in your car or the gutter, better still book into a Travel Inn or Premier Inn and give this hotel a wide berth!!!!!! Would l recommend it? Absolutely not, not even to my worst enemy!!!!
