Just wanting to explore Goa , as a destination. Wanting to learn the English and Portuguese influence in the place. We went backpacking to Goa. Flight from New Delhi and a Two Hour in the Air journey , finally , landed us at Vasco ...The Place From Where The Journey Begins. VAsco is a bit farish from where the Beachy , meaty , spicy Goa resides. But, Vasco is the Hype place of Goa , two days in Vasco can be helpful towards retail therapy. Then we went deeper to the Panjim Centre. The centre of Calm. The centre of Goa. The truth of Goa.
Centrally located in Panjim within walkable distance from most business and Government offices. Clean rooms, bathroom, corridors, working air-conditioning in room. Inclusive breakfast adequate for price paid. (Avoid Idly Sambar and Coconut Chutney - the worst you will ever eat). Practically non-existent and totally unreliable WiFi. Very friendly and helpful staff. Didn't use laundry facilities. My wife and I enjoyed our stay here and we will most certainly use this hotel again. But will get ourselves a good Prepaid Data plan for internet access.
Stayed for a night on a business trip. The hotel has a very good location and is right in the heart of the city's market with lots of restaurants, shopping area, casinos around. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Had booked a delux room, though a bit small in size was neat and clean. Did not tried their restaurant so can't comment on the food. Overall, it was a nice experience and would recommend for a budget stay in Panjim.
Stayed with family for one night. Ceiling fan was on top speed but it was throwing air in room, called to reception couple of times about this problem, different set of people came to check but final verdict was given as "aisa hi chalta hai". Air conditioner in living room was just blower without any cooling. WiFi had also some issues there was on range in the room requested for number of times finally WiFi started after 5 hours. Pathetic service would not recommend this hotel.
A very standard hotel with 5 stars going for the location only.
Its bang in the centre, with access to your touristy places, also for a good walk along in the evening to the garden, to the casinos and the market place.
The facade of the hotel will give you an impression that its a lodge and the reception does look like a shady lodge.
It was a business trip and unfortunately this was booked- I was apprehensive of staying alone there with the reception teeming with men. The check in was amusing to me, in spite of having an emailed confirmation from my counterpart in Goa, the reception could not find my corporate booking and fumbled over 15m to register me.
The rooms was an executive/superior room but poorly maintained. A very noisy air conditioner, walls with peeling paint and stains, ott flowery curtains.
The bed although was very comfortable. The bathroom was also average lodge furnishings.
The rooms are definitely not soundproof because I could hear doors banging, lift opening, people talking and up and down the stairs, and on top of it the door of my room has a loose latch, my agony.
The phone did not work, had to go to the reception, the service was quick, the staff seemed ever so willing to make things right.
The hotel has a restaurant, serves Punjabi cuisine, ordered room service. The food was also average.
For someone who cares two hoots about the ambience and facilities and wants to crash in bed for a few hours after their casino trip, Aroma is a good bet.
I would not recommend it for single women guests.
