We stayed in this studio apartment for 2 days during our stay in south Goa. Mr Isodoro, the owner, provided us with the best possible service from his end. Every room has a microwave and a fridge in the kitchen attached. There are 3 studios on each floor, so total 6 studios. The owner has a wince shop on the ground floor and he is available to the guests round the clock. Food is not available in the premises so you need to drive to Murgao which is 1 km far, although I could not locate any good restaurant in Margao also. The beach is 3 kms away and is a good beach with minimal crowd. The owner provides 2 liters of water to every room every day that is not sufficient so you have to buy more, I suggest he should install some water purifier in the premises so that guests have some option for drinking-water. We carried a induction cooktop to cook for kids. I am rating this a high 4 because of the willingness of Mr Isodoro to give you his best.
We stayed at Jhampu's Studios for a couple of weeks in December and really enjoyed our time there.
The studio essentially consists of three areas: a bedroom, a kitchen space and a bathroom. The bedroom is small but very cosy, it has a very nice and comfortable bed, two chairs, and a foldable table (not shown on the photographs.) There is also a built-in wardbrobe which isn't shown on the photos either.
The kitchen area is nice and spacious, with a refrigerator, and optional kitchen utilities and an electric hob are available for an extra price, which we opted for as we cooked most of our meals. This was brilliant for us as at least one of us is a good cook and we enjoyed the pleasure of eating our meals together in privacy.
The bathroom is a nice size too, with a geyser heater which you have to switch on before use and which heats up quite quickly.
The whole studio, especially the bathroom, is very modern, immaculate and very clean. There is an A/C in the bedroom but we never used it as the fan was more than enough (in December). There is also a bucket (in the bathroom) which we used for washing our clothes, and there is also a clothes drying rack which we put on the roof and the clothes dried fairly quickly.
The photos are quite accurate, and in fact the kitchen is larger and the bathroom is also slightly larger. Oh, there is a balcony off the kitchen, and the entrance to the studio itself is on a shared balcony/veranda.
Internet/wifi is available, however it is only available downstairs in the reception area. This is the one downside to the place, however hopefully it will be fixed in the future so it is available in all the rooms. That said, it was an interesting exercise in not spending too much time on the internet.
The owner, Isidoro, is very pleasant indeed and helped us quite a lot during our stay there. He provided one bicycle and we got another through a friend of his, which came in very handy for exploring the local area, and especially cycling to the beach which is around 3km away. There are quite a few shops nearby selling general food goods as well as vegetables, and a supermarket a little further away.
The nearest beach is Benaulim (3km) though we also cycled to Majorda a couple of times since we had been there on previous occasions. Madgao is also around 1km away. It's also around 23km from the airport.
At this time of year which is allegedly high season, Benaulim still wasn't overly crowded (though I hear Colva gets very busy and is best avoided unless you like that sort of thing!)
All round we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it to anyone who likes a quiet place to stay, and who optionally likes to cook their own food.
