Calux Joia Do Mar Resort

Pathetic property. Paint was coming off the walls. The only thing positive about this place is location as that’s their only achievement. Untidy rooms not maintained properly. Swimming pool was dirty too with lot of chlorine added. When asked about all that all they have to say was that they had lots of guests recently that’s why it’s untidy. Well I did read some of the good reviews too but all I could understand was their lack of properly managing the property. They seem to be inconsistent and unprofessional with their handling of customers and their own property. Our booking agent who continuously was in touch with them they had really nice excuses for all the issues that were brought to their attention.

Having a good experience with my group of 45 oax during 23-26 Jan. Rooms meals amenities are good special thanks for Mr Akhil (GM) and Josefh (Manager) who make it all stuff very easy. The hotel is in a good location with proximity to beaches like Baga, Calangute is close one can enjoy walking in the evening and reach the middle of the two beaches , also Market, Restaurants , Bakery , sweet, grocery is just at arms length. Since this resort has been converted from residential House to a resort and construction is too old, though it is green and covered with palm and bamboo trees but exterior walls are damp and having outer plaster smeared with green Kai , restaurant also not so clean , Swimming pool had lots of dead insects and flies and water was not clean , one will definitely catch skin problem if swim or get inside the pool, Rooms were also having dampness inside with an uncomfortable feeling, peaceful but needed a great maintenance to renovate this property. Food , Buffet breakfast is just okay.

A bad smell came from the Gutter line all over the resort. Gutter line choked up and dirty water came reverse at the time of bathing. Same at flushing the toilet. From the website it looks beautiful. But when we reach the place, it smells like hell. Same for restaurants. Bad smoking smell.
