I had visited the Leela Cottages while staying elsewhere in Goa on my last trip for a meal at Elevar. I had loved the walk from the entrance gate to the restaurant and then to the beach and had resolved to stay here on my next trip, which I did! We booked 4 cottages here for 4 nights in Feb this year. Each cottage appears slightly different from the others. The rooms are well furnished and each cottage has an exclusive hammock hung from the trees right in front of it. There is no swimming pool in the property, but who needs one when there is a huge sea right in front. The rooms do not have a direct view to the sea but it is just a short walk down to the beach. We enjoyed some beautiful sunsets on the Ashwem beach which is by far the cleanest beach in Goa and has the most decent crowd in all of North and South Goa. I completely enjoyed running on the beach which is a straight stretch of about 5 kms. Olive Ridley turtles have their nesting ground on the adjoining beach - Morjim. The food served at Elevar and Maa is pretty decent although we all found the breakfast extremely monotonous and it lacked much choice. There is a very nice spa within the property and I could get some really relaxing massages done there. The only negatives I thought were that the cupboard space in the rooms was insufficient, the toilet floor was extremely slippery, there were to many level differences in the rooms and the toilet, and they did not provide decent toiletries. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely consider staying here again.
