We vacation in Goa once every year, and this time we wanted to stay near Vagator.Living Room had decent rates, and reasonable reviews on most travel sites. After a round of comparisons, zeroed in on Travelguru as the prices were competitive and I had no issues with TG so far. Location: The hotel is towards North Goa, near Baga and Vagator and is about an hour's drive from Dabolim Airport and say about 45 mins from Panjim. I had seen this hotel on our last visit and found it to be quite acceptable. The check in was a quick affair, and we were served welcome drinks, nothing great but welcoming enough considering the weather. I noticed that the hotel was had very few staff but they were more than efficient during the whole process. I had already read that there is no in premises parking so that was not a surprise. They have a security desk overlooking parking so that wasn't a major worry either. Rooms were decent, bathrooms clean, but the balcony could have been better kept. Ask for a pool facing balcony as the view on the other side was drab, but much quieter. I had only breakfast here, which is more than reasonable. Found the BBQ and restaurant ( Salaam ) to be empty so never bothered going there at other times. The rooms are not centrally air conditioned and couple of times there was a lag between key insert and A/C going on, but this was quickly sorted. Overall this is a decent boutique hotel, and worth your money.

Access: As we got down at Madgoan railway station, we had travel around 50 km to get to the hotel. If you travelling by train, Tivim station would be much better option as it is closer (25 km) to this place. Landmark is Anjuna Petrol pump. We took a prepaid cab. The price was very reasonable and the drive wasn't bad at all. The hotel had mentioned that they provide pick-up on request, but gave some excuses when requested for the pick-up. Location: The hotel is located in a interior location away from the crowded city. The best thing is that it is located at a walking distance from the Vagator beach. The beach was clean and less crowded. Chapra fort is also located nearby. Of all the beaches we saw in our trip, I felt this was the best one. The Front desk: The staff was reasonably helpful. But Supervisor cum Manager lady wasn't very friendly at all. The internal communication between the staff and their boss was very poor. We had a free dinner as part of our package which we verified with them at the time of check-in. But during check-out this Manager billed us for the dinner and wanted us to pay for it claiming that the kitchen staff were not aware. The Room: The room was somewhat neat and comfortable. The linen had few stains. The curtain rods in the bathroom were rusted. The wall too had a few stains. The had mentioned free WiFi in the package. But the WiFi never worked. Food & Room Service: The best thing about this hotel was the food. The restaurant staff were very nice and helpful. During check-in we had to carry the suitcases to the room ourselves. Seems like they don't do this service for us. Overall: Choose this hotel only if you want close proximity to the Vagator beach. Don't expect the hotel to provide all services they claim. Be extremely careful about what they are going to charge you.

Demo Trip check rooms physically before occupying. Dampness and musty smell was prevalent.

Demo Trip Higher floor rooms would be good, facing the hill side instead of the pool side.
