I personally feel that the resort should be shut down during offseason instead of running it and giving bad service to guests.
I had booked 4 rooms for 17/6/19, There was no electricity for almost 7 hrs, no Generator back up given, After disputes the management gave us alternate rooms but there also in few rooms AC was not working, Bathrooms had no water or no water in shower, Some flooring tiles were broken, So called Swimming pool was dirty, Access to beach by way of a bridge was lost, Restaurant was closed with no cleaning, Few rooms had no bathroom door locks, Tea coffee satchets were not provided etc etc
In all , we had a very terrible experience there with no options left as we had paid them earlier.
We booked a 3N stay at Mandrem Village Resort. Inspite of reading all the not very impressive reviews on MMT and various other sites, we booked this place. The place as we entered had a rather non maintained, run down look. It is a decently prime and big property on the beach. The gardens had layers and layers of dust, as if only monsoons could wash them off. Water in the taps would stop running once a day. Bar wasn't well stocked and breakfast was very mediocre. Tata sky required daily balance update with very very few channels. The swimming pool was under maintenance during the entire stay.
However, inspite of all this what made us happy was the staff. Mr. Piyush the front desk and property manager did everything to ensure we had a comfortable stay. He upgraded our cottage to a rather lovely one. His forever smiling and happy to help approach was commendable. As soon a complaint was made, he and his housekeeping staff made sure it was attended to. Kudos to the team.
Only, the main gate security needs to learn some good manners. He had a rather ..I care a damn attitude...
Over all, the place if maintained would be a good experience since it is absolutely on the beach.

We (2 couples) stayed here for 4 nights in Feb 2019. We are budget travelers and this time we wanted to treat ourselves with something nice but it was an utter disappointment. Problems/Issues faced:
1) Room was very dusty, cobwebs at the window, the room smelled of a dog as we checked in. Room service did not clean it properly. I am allergic to dust.
2) There was no hot water in the room. On top of that, one day there was NO WATER IN THE ROOM AT ALL!
3) Swimming Pool was empty and was super dirty. The employees kept saying it will be cleaned and filled up next day but it never happened.
4) Sticks for the pool table were in either broken or in bad condition.
5) If you run out of drinking water/ toilet paper around midnight there is no option to get them from the reception (no one is there) or anywhere close by as well. One has to wait until 5 or 6 am to have them.
6) No Blow Dryer or iron available to use.
7) The fridge in the room was very loud (we had to switch it off in order to sleep).
PROS (1 STAR for this):
1) Nice location
2) If you are lucky you will have a nice Indian breakfast
There are many cheaper and better options nearby than to stay here. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
booked this place recently with make my trip. hotel website images, rooms and facilities are completely misrepresented.
room: dirty, unhygienic, satellite tv didn't have money and took ages to recharge. no water on bathroom sink.
restaurant: dirty, unhygienic, unkempt once again. hardly anything on the menu. breakfast next day was extremely poor. chafers didn't have fuel, all food were cold. service non existent.
make my trip: didn't own up and show any commitment when reported the poor state and misrepresented facts on their site
overall: direct access to beach, the viewing deck attached to the restaurant is beautiful however full of bird droppings and not cleaned. there are vehicles, bikes keep moving in and out inside the resort frequently, didn't feel safe n comfortable walking on the path. swimming pool was under maintenance.
the beach itself is very good, beware of dogs.
overall this could be a really good place, but a complete list opportunity due to the way it's been managed now, wouldn't book again.
I stayed in this property for one day and one night. And I am glad I did not book this resort for more nights.
They have a terrible room service. We had to call for room service atleast 10 times before our request of some fresh towels could be answered.
A huge disappointment.
So at night, not sure if vehicles are allowed inside the property, as nobody at the gate stopped us from getting our scooty inside, the owner of the property was extremely rude to us and shouted at us for getting the vehicle inside (there was no sign on the gate).
The Terrace bar was also a disappointment, so is the breakfast which is being served.
When you pay so much for the premium cottage, the least you expect is some politeness and courteous staff.
We felt we were being discriminated for being Indians and nobody wanted to serve us.
