Stayed in the hotel for 4 days during deevali days. Location of the hotel is just fantastic on Calangute beach it self. Deluxe Front view room are having beais jusch view balconies.
Room service are not dependable. Breakfast is just ordinary.
It is great value deal during peak season for the price they charge.
Never depend the she taxi available at Hotel. Charges are high when
compared with outside taxies more over thery do not honour committed trips.
This hotel is located at Calangute Beach with the best view of the sea, beach and market. It is the only Hotel located right on famous beach in Goa.The property is owned by GTDC,very well laid out.well maintained with good service as well which is unlike any other Govt.Hotel.Ms.Ninfa Da Silva,Sr.Manager of this hotel is a very kind hearted woman and very helpful in nature.I hot lot of help from her.Her Mobile number is 9689937287.Anybody can contact her for hotel booking.
The room service is also very prompt and they even change the defective TV of the room at 12-00 O'clock midnight.
So,Hats off to GTDC for doing such fantastic job and hoping to come back again with the family and friends.

The Calangute Residency is the only Hotel that is located right on the popular Calangute Beach in Goa, so Location wise, it really can't get any better than this. The property is owned by GTDC (Goa Tourism Development Corporation), which is owned by the Govt of Goa. The property is however very well laid out, tastefully designed & well maintained with good service as well, which is unlike any other Govt Hotel, so Hats Off to GTDC for doing such a fantastic job !!!!!!!!
The entire Hotel consists of individual Ground plus one Cottages with four or more spacious rooms in each cottage. All the rooms are of the same size, with a decent Bath cum Toilet area, a large Bedroom with a King Size Bed, Cupboard, Centre Table with Chairs, Dressing Table with Mirror, Mini Fridge, Tea/Coffee Maker, LCD TV, & a large attached Balcony. All rooms are comfortably Air Conditioned with good Split AC's and the Furniture, Linen, Fittings, etc are all of good quality. The Room Service is also very prompt & you are attended to immediately for any Housekeeping requirements that you may have. The entire property is beautifully landscaped & very well maintained. They also have a small swimming pool for guests to enjoy. Buffet Breakfast is complimentary at the Restaurant of the Hotel, but is of average taste. They do have a live egg counter & a live dosa counter as well for Breakfast, but the variety & taste of all the items is very average. The restaurant is their only downside & I would not recommend eating there. This is however not an issue, as there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance all over the place. They have ample parking within the Hotel premises & also have a Goa Tourism Counter with all the Tours beginning & ending at the Hotel, which is very good. The WiFi however is weak & works only in the reception, but is Out of Order most of the time, so you can't use it. The Phone Signal is also weak & forget about 4G, even 3G Signal is not available, so you have to be satisfied with a weak Edge Signal only.
All in all, a great place to stay at in Calangute & certainly worth your money.
This hotel is located at Calangute beach with the best view of the sea and beach. Calangute beach is the most happening beach in Goa and this hotel is the best place to stay if one wants to enjoy the beach activities rather than staying in 'serene', 'secluded', 'romantic' locations. However if one keeps aside the location factor there is nothing else to go bla-bla for this hotel. Rooms are spacious, as one would expect in a Government-run property. Bathrooms are of moderate size, having geysers inside. Furnitures are worn-out with a tiring look. We took two A/C Suites and both the rooms had same worn-out furnitures. Flow of water from bathroom taps was inconsistent, with frequent narrowing of water stream. Beds and linens so-so, dish T.V. with multiple channels functioning nicely, an electric kettle to boil water only without any supply of tea/coffee bags. If you want to make your own tea if have to carry your own tea-bags, etc.
The most dreadful part for me was the complimentary breakfast, where you have to collect coupons and wait in queues at several counters for food. A chargeable 'langar' sort of thing to say the least ! Restaurant serves good, tasty food at comparable prices with other nearby food-joints. I read about their pathetic room service in several reviews, but surprising found to be flawless in my case. No complaints on my part regarding room service. Reception guys looks rude at first sight, but they are not so appalling as they look ! Quite helpful both of them.
To sum up, if you are looking to enjoy the sea and beach at Goa to the fullest with a mindset to adjust the flaws of this hotel, then Calangute Residency should be your ideal address at Goa.
