It was my 2nd trip to Goa. We wanted to stay near Calangute beach, but it was super crowded so we decided to near Sinquerim beach so that we can easily drive to Baga and other nearby beaches. Maquis is located bang on the Sinquerim beach. This is a good property and maintained very well. Rooms are little small to accommodate a small family. They have a big outdoor area from where you can easily access the sea view. Although they don't have facility for indoor games like TT, snooker, etc which was bit disappointed for us as a company. Overall, this is a good property with all basic amenities that a resort must have.
Goa, is one of my favourite locations, and everytime I prefer to try out different resorts particularly on the beach. This time it was Marquis. Its indeed a lovely property with awesome staff members. The pool side restaurant & the beach side bar is awesome. The rooms are good, but really small as far as price band is concerned. Majority of the rooms have no specific view and that really matters when you are on a family vacation. Staff is really helpful. Mr. Prem, Restaurant Manager, particularly was really very cooperative. Special thanks to Mr. Gopi who helped me while I was having problem opening by bag due to number lock problem. Well, the breakfast spread is really good, and taste was great. Swimming pool size is really nice. I liked overalll landscaping of the property and the access to the nice and clean beach!!!
The resort is based out of Candolim beach which is very clean and awesome.
The beach which is 2 mins walk is extremely clean, less crowded, has a variety of shacks. 50m from the Kingfisher villa. Hardly 15 mins from Fort Aguada. About 3-4km from Calangute & Baga area.Scooters and Cars are available on self-riding/driving basis just outside the hotel.
The property is clean & well maintained. . A private beach, clean swimming pool (outdoor), well manicured lawns, activity and play area for kids, variety of eateries within walking distance. The rooms are small, just ok for couple stay. An extra bed would really make it claustrophobic. Ours was a deluxe room, on 1st Floor with bit of sea view. The rooms have all of the standard amenities (shower, hot water, air conditioning, tea/coffee provisions, minibar), with small balcony.
The limited breakfast spread was descent. Quality of food is ok, room service was prompt but food wasnt delicious.
The most disappointing part of this property was the hotel staff. The FNB staff are polite, but they lack refinement. Their smiles & greetings are reserved exclusively for foreign guests. The front office staff are extremely cold behaved, arrogant & pathetic.
And I would blame the management for it for its training (or the lack of it).
Nothing can be worse than the feeling that you are unwelcomed in your own country.
For those of you who are used to North Goa, this may be an easy shift from the maddening crowd. This resort ticks all the boxes one would want on a holiday .
If you refuse to be perturbed by the pathetic behaviour of staff here, & just enjoy the Bliss and Solitude of the place, you can definitely land here.
Its an awesome property with one of the best beaches. It would do better provided it follows the basic ethos of hospitality.
Marquis Beach Resort is one of my best Resort in Goa i have been there for many times .A resort on superb location and on beautiful beach. Very Nice and friendly staff with superb service.
