Delightful stay! Delightful stay!

by Deidree R on July 18, 2016

nice experience.Value for money... an outstanding place to stay in Goa, is at a 2 minute walking distance from the Sinquerim beach. Good Ambience, gracious staff, maintain good hygiene and to top it excellent service.

Don't do it to yourself! You're better than that ! Don't do it to yourself! You're better than that !

This hotel was too basic. You can get so much better for your money in Goa. The staff were friendly (not the manager). My bed sheets were stained at one point. This place was probably charming at some point but that's clearly gone. I would not recommend this place and don't believe even for those looking for basic should consider

Value for money with good basic facilities, clean and tidy, proximity to beach Value for money with good basic facilities, clean and tidy, proximity to beach

Many hotels and resorts in Goa especially in Calangute, Candolim claim to be beach resort even through they are located far away from beach. But melodious waves is truly beach resort as beach is 2-3 min walk away from beach. If you are planning to spend more time out than in hotel, this is more suitable and also it is not that heavy on your pocket. Proximity to beach is a big value add. Also walking distance from main road where most of restaurants, jewellary and other shops are located. Had booked a AC room and room was spacious as we were 3 of us and facilities were basic. Room had 2 sit outs but there was no TV. Room, bathroom were clean and tidy, Complementary breakfast served was not sufficient since it included only 2 slices of bread, butter, Jam and coffe/tea. Variety of egg dishes are available for breakfast. Restaurent guys are very humble and courteous. There are 2 routes to go to beach from this hotel. one through a restaurent called "palms and sand" and the other one through a narrow lane. During evenings, entrance from palms and sands will be convenient but it is allowed only for restaurent customers. The narrow lane is safe (through there are stray dogs), well lit with street lights. In summary: quiet location, away from hustle, bustle, very near to beach and basic facilities.

Would definitely stay here again Would definitely stay here again

Just recently stayed here and to be honest we really liked it here, the staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them. And so what the beds are a little bit hard but if you do your research before booking you will no exactly what your getting and that is great value for your money . It's in a lovely quiet location but still has a few bar/restaurants just outside and it's clean . And the beach is only at the end of the road. It is at the quiet side of candolim but taxis and tuk Tuks are so cheap to get to beach road or baga where it is livelier. If you want luxury go else where and pay for it but me personally I really did enjoy staying here and will again on my next visit to goa

Basic accomodation Basic accomodation

This guest house is situated in a quiet location close to the beach and nearby restaurants. We knew the location when we booked and were happy to be at the quieter end of the resort over the New Year period. At 20 a night for that period the price was exellent value. However the room did leave a lot to be desired. We visit India and travel on a budget so dont expect European standards...just cleanliness. The room was very tired and in need of maintainance but adequate for what we needed (a week until our usual accomodation was available). The bathroom and toilet though were extremely basic and heavily stained. I gave the room a clean with anti bacterial wipes to avoid any nasty surprises. The bedding was clean and unstained, the pillows and mattress extremely firm (very hard). The twin beds creaked every time we moved as the plywood base chaffed against the frame. Once I had made up some strips between the wood and frame (good use of the old airline tags from the flight) we stopped most of the noise and could move freely without waking the other up. Breakfast was included and taken on the lawn in the mornings. It consisted of toast jam juice and coffee or tea. There were other things on offer for a reasonable price. The security boxes are located in the main office and use a padlock system to secure them. We used our own padlock from the cases for extra peace of mind as the office is sometimes left unstaffed. The beach is a five minute walk away down one of the little footpaths outside. This brings you out at the Fort Aguada end of the Candolim strip. It is by far the prettier part of the area and also the quietest. Probably wouldn't use this guest house again but wouldn't discount it in an emergency.
