We have had a horrible experience at the hotel. There were a number of bad things to write about but the only good thing about the resort was its location i.e proximity to Calangute and Baga beach and the property of the resort was good. To start with the bad things the room quality was horrifying that was after we changed the room twice the plaster on the wall were peeling off, the sofa was torn and to top the list the suite was not having one single but two single beds were joined together with a gap which not even a worse hotel would keep.It was most uncomfortable bed i have ever slept. The service was nothing to mention. There was no housekeeping staff to attend to us and infact the watchman had to take our luggage to the room. The breakfast menu was so bad and lousy that I cant even mention. We would never recommend this resort to anyone.

Average Place but good as compared to the price you pay for it Average Place but good as compared to the price you pay for it

Visited here for a 3 night 4 days stay. This is an average resort (hence don't expect much). But its worth the money that you are spending (Itna paisa mein itnaich milenga!). There was absolutely no coordination between Mumbai (Booking) office and the Site office and they made list minute preparations of the rooms (whichever available at that moment) inspite of booking it 2 months prior. The staff here was completely raw and hence lacked service oriented attitude. No one bothered about any thing and everyone here had a completely laid back attitude. The food here is good though and cheap as well. However the restaurant stinks at times. There wasnt water to wash hands once during our lunch so got a royal treatment of washing hands with mineral water! ;) Plus Point: 1. Big Property 2. Private Beach (thats what they call it!) 3. Walking distance from calangute market 4. Good and affordable food Areas of Improvement: 1. Untrained Staff 2. Average Rooms. 3. Restaurant stinks (at times) 4. Lack of coordination between Mumbai Office and Site office

Disappointing front desk and Housekeeping Disappointing front desk and Housekeeping

We go to Goa once or twice every year and stay at Calangute-Baga beach. We know all the beach resorts on the stretch and have experienced most of them by now. This November we chose this Paradise Village Beach Resort. Very average ratings of this resort on Tripadvisor gave us some doubts but still we decided to stay here - just to experience this resort too first hand. Well, just to summarize - Front Desk staff is clueless as to why they exist there. They are irritating. They will spoil your mood in as many innovative ways as possible. All of them are managers because there is no real manager among them :)! They give you the keys once you checkin but forget to clean the rooms ... ooopps! And when you complain they will give you a blank look. Their rates are slightly lower than other resorts on the beach because of all these issues and also because their rooms are average in quality, though of good size. They won't allow your guest/visitor beyond the front desk - your guest/visitor can't come and meet you in your room - absolutely not, doesn't matter how many rooms have you booked for how many nights and how much business you have given them. Their every service is average or below average. Also, they don't have any business sense whatsoever. Let me give an example. All of us couldn't come. So we had 1-2 rooms extra. And we saw that there was quite some rush due to peak season. So we requested these guys - if there is someone asking for an extra room or fresh booking then you can give our 1 room as we are not going to use our 1-2 rooms anyways. They just couldn't understand this simple thing. They refused, which is okay. Another example - a few of us came early, so we needed one extra room for the first day. They said plain no - that it's not possible at all, they didn't say that they will at least try and let us know by the evening. So we booked an Oyo room just outside the resort for the first night for our early arrivals. And then in the evening they called us and said that they can give us an extra room. Thing is - they are totally insensitive to your any urgent or last minute need or changes, even if they can actually do it. All this tells me that they have no business sense. You will feel as if its a government run resort .. just because of the way they deal with you, particularly their front desk i.e. the reception. At the time of leaving they booked a taxi for us at Rs 1400/- for the airport, but when the taxi came the driver just didn't listen to them and told us to pay Rs 1600/-. We had to reach airport on time and so we didn't argue and paid Rs 1600/-. Basically, nothing is systematic there. Their entire staff needs intensive training on Hospitality. Its a big enough property but still rated 3 star and not 4 star - for a reason. Also, no wonder that Tripadvisor rating for this resort is very average in spite of its good location. Certain good things about this resort - its big in size compared to the others on that stretch, its restaurant is good (food quality & service both), its swimming pool is of good size and clean. Choose this resort on this stretch only if you are not willing to spend a little more. Rates of this resort is always Rs 500-1000/- less than the others. However, keep your expectations from them on lower side and you probably will enjoy it more then. Yes, they felt a bit embarrassing finally and then one of their younger managers offered us a free buffet lunch. We said no. We refused 2-3 times. However, when on the last night (when only a few of us were left anyways) we went to the restaurant for dinner they kind of made us accept their free buffet dinner. Actually there was nobody in the restaurant. We were quite late, they insisted a lot, so we didn't think too much and accepted their buffet. We appreciate that. However, they might think that this gesture of theirs kind of compensates for all the inconveniences caused to us. Well, it doesn't compensate. Also, we made sure to pay whatever we ordered outside their buffet - so its not that we took any advantage when they showed this small gesture out of their embarrassment. This can be a 4 star property with a different team of servicing staff. Restaurant team is good (4.5 / 5 as my separate rating for them) - no change required there. Rest all teams are bakwaas - right from security team to front desk to housekeeping.

We have booked the 5 rooms with travel agent sitting in Mumbai who is managing paradise beach village resort .We gave 50% amount for advance booking. But when we reached there , they have told that we have only 3 rooms. After so many discussion and arguments we have asked them to give us refund which we have paid in advance.they bluntly denied and we have been told that you have to do refund from Bombay office. The management sitting in Bombay was not picking our calls and not answerable. We did not get any solution and we adjusted 10 ppl in 3 rooms. The rooms are poorly maintained .Out of 3 rooms , there are lot of bed begs which is a sign of dirtiness .There is not medical help on the resort even they don't have any medicines also.We did not sleep over the night and we have given new room at morning 4 o'clock and we have shifted the luggage our-self.There was not enough staff in night who can manage all the things.Room service is very poor .We are calling 2-3 times everyday for routing cleaning .This resort is not safe and it is totally disappointed and ruined our whole vacation. "PLZ DON'T BOOK IN ADVANCE THROUGH MUMBAI MANAGEMENT OF PARADISE BEACH VILLAGE RESORT. "

Good location, but average place & service Good location, but average place & service

by SyedHussaini on December 16, 2016

Stayed for 3 nights, the location of the place is the biggest draw. Its a big property with direct access to beach with shacks in Calangute. The beach is also clean with less crowd. However, the rooms are average. Service staff are not well trained, do not respond to customers politely. The fridge in the room started de-frosting and we complained at around 11:30 pm. But no one turned up. Swimming pool is good and clean. Breakfast is good, couple of staff are courteous at the restaurant. Wifi supposed to be free in some areas never worked. For the kind of facilities available, this place is bit expensive. However, the location and beach access is the best part.
