Just arrived back after spending 3 weeks at this brilliant hotel. It's my second time staying here and won't be my last.
When we arrived our room wasn't ready but it wasn't a major problem as friends we were with their room was, so we were able to use theirs till ours was ready.
The staff can't do enough for you and the grounds are spotless.
The hotel is down a side street off the main road so it's lovely and quiet.
We had a pool facing room which was so nice and our room cleaner Harendra could t do enough to make our stay as pleasant.
I do feel sorry for some staff the way some English tourist speak and treat them. They think they're their slaves. Moaning because they could t bring them a pot of tea quick enough when u could make it in a cup.
An excellent hotel in a great location.
We booked the phoenix park & after reading some of the reviews we were optimistic,
BUT I can honestly say i do not know what some people want,
This hotel is Great Value for money, perfectly situated no traffic noise. Its spotless clean, The staff are always smiling friendly & happy to helpful in anyway they can. The food was delicious.
We had a 14 night stay nothing was to much trouble. The room was cleaned daily with & bottled water - tea & coffee making facilities replenished daily, there was also a Fridge, Cable TV, 2 ceiling fans & air con & wifi in our room ALL FREE. NO upgrade needed.
The down side only small balconies & only around 28 sunbeds which were full before 8am,
( this did not bother us as we went down to the beach shack & spent the day there) If we wanted a lazy day.
Before we went to Goa everyone was telling us its only toast for breakfast, They were wrong as at the Phoenix Park we got everything Eggs Boiled, scrambled, fried, Omelette (ham onion tomato cheese) etc - poached, all made to how you like it, Bacon, cereal, fruit, porridge, toast, Jams- honey, Indian Breakfast, also full menu for the rest of the day & room service if required. the bar was well stocked & nice & clean, not 24hrs anymore though because of complaints ( Not the staffs fault or the hotels).
I would Recommend The Phoenix Park to anyone thinking of going to Candolim & I would definitely go back without a shadow of a doubt.
A big Thank You To All The Staff At Phoenix Park.
Stayed at the phoenix park from 28 Jan to 8 Feb can't complain at all. Staff were very helpful even when there was no teaspoons at breakfast. Good position a short walk from the beach, and the town. The taxi drivers outside the hotel were a bit intimidating but a firm no thanks done the trick. Candalim it's self is a very busy place changed a lot in 11 years since we were last here, found some of the local people were quite rude as if they resented us travellers. But over all had a very nice time. A big thank you to the staff of the phoenix park for a very nice stay.
