The management of this hotel is unacceptable by Ramada's standard. The receptionist was less than enthusiast at our check-in. I had to ask every single question myself from the I had direction to my room to breakfast location. She only eyed in finishing the paperwork and had no interest to introduce the Resort to us.
When I asked her to reserve a dinner table at the recommended restaurant, she asked me "to call the restaurant myself from my room". I eventually went to the desk of the duty manager and asked for the service.
Unfortunately, the reception team also repeatedly insisted that I could have one device for wifi only for a triple-person suite, even though I had shown her the email confirmation sent directly from the Resort's reservation manager that it has been agreed with wifi log-in for 3 devices. I had to demand for logging a complaint with the hotel manager before she unwillingly took actions and gave me the wifi log in accounts which also had problems and needed to be re-issued on the following day.
When I entered the room, I immediately found it dingy and small by today's standard. The suite was very tired and the bathroom was full of stains. The suite is far from a fair representation of their photos on the Resort's website.
As for the travel desk, the staff were not interested in providing travel information. They neither provided any description about the stops of the private day tours that they were selling, nor asked my travel interest. All drivers that they booked for our dinner and sightseeing transport apparently didn't know the payment arrangements via the hotel and requested to be paid directly.
The last straw is the intolerable noise disruption that I'm now having from the wedding party at the ballroom and lobby. We could hear every single beat of the music and conversion of the guests in the middle of the night (2am as I'm writing the review). I'm paying 74,000 rupees for my long weekend stay at a suite, such disruption is not at all acceptable! The duty manager tried to speak to the F&B person in charge but they had no way to contain the noise of the party. If they have a noise situation for hosting party well into the mid-night, the hotel shouldn't have sold rooms that are directly under the impact. I have requested a meeting with the manager on duty to discuss the situation in the morning as the standard at this Resort is appalling being a Ramada's franchise.
To start with Ramada as usual is awesome and customer friendly resort to enjoy your hard earned vacation, food and breakfast is excellent special mention to steward Pascal and Donald, beautiful lawns to laze with lot's of sun loungers, about rooms are mind blowing and Roque along with Leo tried harded to clean every noke and corner, not forgetting their talented and smiling manager Sami (Samarth) who is really a asset to this resort and will assist you 24/7, surprised beach shack was closed thanks for a lovely fun filled holiday, will be back next season.
Ramada Caravela in Goa is an ideal place to relax, particularly if you want to have undisturbed sun & sea bath. Resort has extended beach & large greenery. Although resort is located in isolated area far from city and it is nice place to have complete relax. You might feel Reception / Front desk people are not so efficient when check-In, but considering purpose you go there it is tolerable. It seems property is old, but rooms are comfortable & clean. Particularly restaurant staff provides very efficient & friendly service.WIFI works well, but free WIFI is provided for one unit as such you will not be able to avail this for your smart phone & laptop which is in a way draw back. Clean, less crowded, long beach with safer sea bath make this resort nice for family holidays & long stay with undisturbed relaxation.
Ramada - Goa is a great choice for South Goa if you are looking for a 5 Star
But it has certain Hits and Misses
- Huge Property with exterior very well maintained
- Excellent Swimming pool open till late 8 pm and music during the day
- Direct access to the beach - almost private to the Resort with sunbeds and umbrellas and security and also a shack managed by the resort
- Well maintained Golf course and even 30 minutes complimentary Putting
- Cycling, Tennis, Badminton, Gym lots of activities and maintained very well and priced very reasonably
My Wife, child and me had a great time playing tennis, badminton, golf and strolling on the beach especially during sunset
- The buffet at night is set well along the poolside with live music thought the food is ok-ok but the staff is very helpful and for a 5 star Rs 1100 for buffet dinner is fine
- Breakfast buffet is very good with Continental, Indian, Waffles etc etc
- The rooms are small, we had opted for a Deluxe room (higher than Superior and Garden rooms) but yet we felt it was small as compared to many other resorts at Goa
Though the bathroom in Deluxe Room was nice with a large bath tub and separate shower area
Also the rooms look due for a refurbishment
Also a big thanks to the polite and smiling staff right from Restaurant to pool staff and the activities staff - Always smiling and greeting and trying to make each guest comfortable
But on the whole the smaller room is more than compensated with all the other positives of Ramada
We spent 2 days at this resort, and were craving to stay on. A lovely beach resort, self contained.. Good Food, Great rooms, Easy Access to Beach, Great Swimming Pool. There are multiple activities for children viz. Play area, tennis court, or activites scheduled at the resort itself. Must visit.
