This 5 star Resort was more than worth to stay considering the price at which we booked. Thanks to travelguru for making our stay so special at such a low price.Resort had a big clean pool.It also had varied dining options and if you are fond of Gujarati food the resort provides you that too.The cozy rooms were spacious and had balcony with it.Also it was just 3 kms from the baga beach, one of the finest beaches of North Goa.All n all a very good 5 star resort to stay in Goa

We'd visited Goa for a 3N/4D holiday. Since it was our first family trip to Goa we wanted to stay at a beach resort. So we selected a standard room at Cidade De Goa. But we could only get it for two nights as it was fully booked for weekend. So there began our search for the right resort/hotel where we could spend our last night in Goa. After a exhaustive and careful search and spending endless hours reading reviews, we zeroed in on Resort Rio. The property was new and had no reviews but it looked good and we wanted to try it out ourselves. Plus we'd no issues in it not being right on the beach as we'd have had much of a beach experience at Cidade. But coming from Cidade would also mean that Rio would be put to comparison with the so called best. So our expectations of this 5 star were really high. And did it surprise us? You bet it did! Arrival- We reached Rio at around 1.30 in the afternoon. Parking- Rio still has some construction going on near parking but still parking facility is decent enough. Reception-We were greeted by Ms Anjali Kamat and Mr Vinayak at the reception and while we were completing the check-in formalities, we got refreshing welcome drinks (courtesy cafe rio)! Later on we were escorted to our room by Mr Vinayak. The Room- Well this was our biggest surprise. We'd seen the pictures and the room looked good there. But what we actually saw was kind of luxury personified in each and every detailing. We'd booked a deluxe room and it was way far much better than anything we'd seen in that segment. And it was better than the previous hotel's room. We were given a pool facing rooms and the view was spectacular. The Bathroom- Well hold your breath for the most indulging and inviting bathrooms! No words to explain the beauty and the thoughts given in planning it in such a nice way. Sliding doors, bathtub, separate shower area, separate wc area, basin area and all amenities (shampoo, shower gel, soap, moisturizer, shower caps, basic care kit, disposal bags) in place with 3 set of towels (S-M-L)! Plus there's a sliding window that separates the bathroom and bedroom which gave it a very exotic look and feel. Restaurents- Food and Drinks- They had Cafe Rio and Pickled Mango functional. We tried north indian as well as south indian cuisine and they were delicious to say the least. For breakfast all standard 5-star like options were available. Our daughter, who is not even 3, was being very choosy with breakfast. So we asked them if they had oat or porridge. They quickly provided a bowl of porridge which she ate without any fuss! The staff (Sridhar and others) was equally amazing- so courteous, friendly and always on their toes. We have no negative to mention. They would be coming up with other restaurants (Italian, pure vegetarian) as well and I've no doubts they'd be any less good. Mr George (from Animation dept) played some nice guitar in the evening. I mean it was impromptu and he was no professional but it was so much nicer and different from the routine 5-star’s planned performances. Drinks at Cafe Rio were up to the mark too! Room Service etc.- We ordered Milk for our daughter. They were careful enough to keep it just warm for the child. And it was served promptly. Pool- Neat, clean and up to the mark. We did not use it as we'd limited time but we could see that other guests (not too may but all foreigners) were having a great time. Front Desk- Taxi for sight-seeing and airport transfer was promptly arranged. Location- Near to Baga beach and Calangute beach. Not on beach front but not a problem as taxi can be easily arranged by hotel or you can hire a vehicle for yourself. What else- Be there to experience it yourself! I’d highly recommend it for a luxurious and indulging stay at Goa!

Quick VERY POSITIVE review Quick VERY POSITIVE review

After months of anxiety after booking a very favourable Resort Rio in May 2016 for my boyfriends 50th birthday, I have read the reviews with a heavy heart and as the holiday neared I was so fearful. We arrived at 5am today, yes we got moved from the old to the new building, literally opposite, but couldn't be happier. Room is huge, staff so friendly, and so far nothing negative. Looking forward to tomorrow when we will catch the free bus transfer to Baga beach. I guess one man's hamburger is another man's steak.... So far, so good. Will post more once our holiday is over!

Goa!! We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. It was an overall very good experience. The staff were courteous both at the reception and as well in there restaurant which is called Pickle Mango. Prakash was the best who is part of Pickle Mango with his hospitality.

Good but not 5 star Good but not 5 star

We stayed here for 4 nights on our trip round India. The hotel is really nice, but for us, didn't meet the standards you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. Positives: - Excellent food at Jalsa and great service at lunchtime from our waiter who talked us through an exceptional Thali meal - Nice bar with music and good service. Drink prices reasonable, for a hotel, and the pakora was good in the bar - Good gym although it could get a little hot as they don't leave the air con running - Arpora is a nice little stretch with some good restaurant and quieter bars - Nice spacious and modern room - Breakfast was great - delicious freshly made dosas! Negatives - Check in process was stressful, initially they acted like the couldn't find the booking and then ushered us over to the Rio Royale (the newer bit) where we had to go through it all again - Pool played the same music over and over again and it was sometimes very loud round the royale pool - Service just isn't 5 star. No service around the pool - Baga is a noisy resort, full of bars and beach wasn't clean, had to travel to get to nicer beaches like Vagator - Wifi was very annoying as you had to get a new log on and code every day and these were temperamental - Cocktail hour didn't seem to exist despite asking at every bar! - Asked for extra towels in the room as there wasn't enough and then they disappeared again after the first day Overall we enjoyed our stay but it's got a little way to go to compete with 5 star hotels.

Fantabulous place specially because of the culture and staff attitude. Special mention of Durgesh who takes special care to ensure guests comfort. We were thoroughly impressed. The location is excellent and the breakfast buffet needs a special mention.

It is terrible experience in Rio Resort, V booked 1 Deluxe rooms and one villa date 27th to 30th Jan 2017 the price was RS. 8500 per couple per day total package was around RS. 120000 V paid the money online in advance and the management alloted 702 villa it is 3 bed room villa and 1 deluxe room . Check in date we have give a complaint about the AC is not working in one of the bed room AC is full of sound and water leakage, In another bed room water leakage in bathroom, next day they solved the water leakage problem but the AC problem was like that in same sound and water leakage problem, like that v have give continue 3 days continue complain but not response from the team. And 4th day we have to checkout the villa but AC was not repair... 2nd incident we face at spa centre in rio resort , The 2nd day v have book 3 couple massage for the next day the price for massage was RS. 15000. The 3rd day morning v 2 couple gone for massage and the 3rd couple was not interested for massage due to health reasons . The lady at the spa counter say you all 3 couple has to come for massage she will not take for 2 couples. The lady manager at spa booking counter was not at all able to understand our problem and she use the bad language say u people don't no the quality of 5 stars why you come here. This was the language the lady used it was such a shocking to listen such kind of words ...it was big insulting to the customers.. we have booked resort in advance paid online money but not to get our self insulted.... This resort is not a 5 stars property...... I sincerely request every one who check to trip advisor they are so many properties in GOA with better price and with good quality of service .. uploading the videos pls check before booking ....
