Location was fantastic, the resort is near by to the beach and the view around was very beautiful. Staff was little slow in their service but it was manageable. Room was large with basic facilities. Food was very delicious (chole bhature) was yummy. I will surely recommend to every one.

Pros: Mandrem Beach is just stone throw away, ambiance was perfect, great infact and the Deluxe Bamboo Room was fine. Cons: Pathetic service, staff are unfriendly & non-cooperative, also it was very slow. Reception folks were rude(expect one lady). Overall it was a good stay & value for money.

I really liked the resort and it's location. The restaurant attached to the resort charged almost double the price even for the items with 'MRP' printed on it.

Excellent property. They planned a special surprise for my son's 16th birthday. It was very memorable. Staff was attentive, courteous and pampered us with discretion. We were celebrating a number of milestones.

We were booked at Riva Beach Resort for couple of nights during December and the hotel experience was appalling. Firstly the hotel is far from the airport, at least 1h45min but there is roadworks at the moment so our trip took almost 3 hours. When we arrived at the hotel at 9pm they showed us to our triple room, 1 bed and a couch. Apparently the couch can fold open into a bed, but it is so hard you would not even want to sit on it. After complaining and being met with frontline staff arrogance they brought in an extra bed which was nothing more than a stretcher. We had to ask for extra towels as well. Overall room and towels and bathroom was dirty and run down. Next morning we went for breakfast which was worst than the room. Cups and plates are dirty and there is food on tables and floor that is not cleaned up. Needless to say we paid for breakfast outside the hotel after this. The river is nothing more than an insect collecting stream/dam and the wooden bridge from hotel to beach is in a run down state. The path from hotel to beach is dirty and filled with litter. If you can live with all of the above there is a nice beach and some nice restaurants and shops in the streets nearby. There are some staff that really try to help but get the idea they have limited resources and definitely no leadership and guidance. With some investment and new management this could be a great place as the location are good, even though it is a bit of a distance to the airport. In the current state would strongly recommend you stay away from this hotel.

Sylvie is amazing! Always goes out of her way, to make us feel at home. Have gone back twice because of sylvie! The location is fantastic, and the beach it's on is very clean and nice. Food is good, cleanliness can be improved.

The Riva Beach Resort has an excellent location just off Mandrem beach, which is beautiful. The resort grounds are green and inviting, however the rooms are in need of an upgrade. The linen was consistently spotty with dirt and even though housekeeping tried their best to accommodate us, we never got properly clean white linen. The bathroom was OK, but it smelled of sewage and mold. These would all have been forgivable if not for the appalling service of the vast majority of the staff (housekeeping was excellent in terms of service). During a meal at the hotel restaurant, the staff only served me, while ignoring my girlfriend; they would consistently only give me a menu, unless prompted; they would interrupt a meal to give the bill and loiter until you paid; food did not necessarily arrive at the same time; if you were not holding on to your plate, they would take it away, and ironically, the waiters would ignore you unless you "flagged them down", and even then you had to be pretty explicit. It is a plus that the hotel has a taxi service connected to it, but be aware that they will try to overcharge for the convenience, sometimes they will even try to double the price of a trip we had already taken. Note that prices are negotiable. The organization of the activities at the hotel leaves much to be desired. They arranged a pool party at the same time as an expensive gala dinner at the adjacent restaurant. The pool party was so loud that conversation anywhere on the hotel grounds was impossible.

Position: Excellent, only a short walk to the fantastic Mandrem beach Rooms: With a little TLC could be lovely however they are just grubby & underwhelming Staff: Decent staff but look like they are working in an environment of fear & not as customer focussed as they could be Food: Adequate, the terrace is lovely but possibly the most soulless dining room Ive ever had the misfortune to eat in Pool & Gardens: Great Space but sunbeds could do with an overhaul Price: European prices, local standard means you dont feel youve had value. Overview: With the right management philosophy this place could be an absolute gem however most reviews are saying the same thing and those leaving probably wont be going back.
