Hotel was good, rooms were cleaned, breakfast and dinner was good (buffet breakfast consist of Boiled egg, Omelette, Idly, sambhar, Poha, Dosa, poori sabji, sweet corns, juice, milk, butter & breads, Tea, Coffee and few more. You can get a free drop from Hotel to Panjim market at 10:30 am or you have to get a vehicle to go outside. I would thanks to Mario for arranging vehicle. Beach is 2 min walk from the hotel.
"Quite uncomfortable with the gang of 20-30 bachelor's guest, they were shouting and making guests uncomfortable". Not happy with that at all.
This hotel is lovely. Very quiet and peaceful. On the other hand if you want shops, bars and entertainment then it is the wrong place. We had just had almost three weeks in North India and came from Bombay so it was a welcome and refreshing change from the noise and hassle.
We had a premium room. The room was large and clean and cleaned well every day. The shower worked well and never ran out of hot water. We had a fridge in the room which worked and was stocked with bottled water every day. We even had a small sink in the main room. Coffee and tea were in the room with a kettle. We had a small balcony with a table and chairs and it was nice to sit out there and have a cold beer.
There was a large safe in the room in which we were able to store our laptop and various cameras and other expensive items. WiFi was very good and the best we have had in India.
Breakfast was buffet style but eggs were to order and i had a very nice omelette most days. All sorts of Indian foods plus toast and marmalade. Phillip in the restaurant was especially helpful and advised us on meals in the evenings. He has worked on cruise ships and his English is impeccable. Very helpful and added to the enjoyment of our stay.
There is a pool at the hotel which was clean and well looked after. Vainguinim beach is a five minute walk through pleasant gardens to get to. Very quiet and peaceful beach. Never saw more than a dozen people on it. The hotel have sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach and towels are there to be collected.
The hotel run a shuttle into the capital Panjim at 10.30 every day. You can also get the shuttle back but we never did. A tuktuk is 300 rupees.
The only let down we had was getting a taxi to the airport at the end of our stay. This wasn't really the hotels fault. There is a travel desk in the hotel foyer. We booked a taxi for 4.30am during our last day there. We had a call at 8pm that night asking if we wanted a taxi. i went down and told them we had already booked but there was no record. I rebooked and all was well. or so we thought. No taxi came at 4.30 the next morning ant the hotel receptionist had to call one. he arrived about 20 minutes late which did not adversely affect us as we always leave ourselves plenty of time. A little worrying though and something we could have done without.
Small thing that the hotel needs to look at though as a third party outfit gives the hotel a bad name.
This is not good hotel to come back again and no recommend anybody because of:
1- we every day should ask to bring us shampoo and soap and change bed sheets they do it untill ask !
2- breakfast is so simple and no variety.
3-mafia in taxi service and because of no other choice you should their taxi and any price they offer.
4-every day we should come to reception because our key card doesn't work!
5 design of rooms like cheap hostel in roads, even no tissues in rooms!
Never come back there and never recommend to you
Not a great value for your money. This is our fourth and last night here - my husband came for a conference so this was the closest location to venue that was somewhat affordable. However, if we had a choice, I would not stay in this part of Goa to begin with, as this particular hotel does not have convenient access to rickshaws, and hiring a cab for everything becomes expensive. The basic rooms are very compact so we upgraded to a deluxe premier which was huge, with a living room space and 2 balconies. The place has a lot of potential but the horrible service ruined our stay in Goa.
The hotel's pros:
Nice landscaping, pool and buildings (no beach view though)
Breakfast included, which is decent
Food menu is priced fairly and has a decent selection
Beach access ( 2 minute walk)
Now for the cons:
Ordering practically anything is a hassle. The staff are really incompetent and totally unprofessional, and the female receptionist seems like she has no clue how to help tourists. None of them seem to be trained. The person sitting at the taxi desk was not attentive, paid more attention to his mobile than to us, and could hardly communicate - and there was no language barrier.
We ordered 2 glasses of Sauvignon Blanc, as listed on the menu, and the wine they gave us was the color of whisky and tasted like vinegar, it was so old.
On an other occasion, we ordered a beer and it took more time to get than the food order, and the server didn't bring a glass or open it until we reminded him.
The first 2 nights there was no hot water in the shower. When it does come, it's so hot it burns.
We had asked for the room to be cleaned and had to remind them twice to do so.
Tonight at 10pm the front desk called us and asked us to settle our bill (but we had already signed for the dinner-room service, so I asked him what bill, as we weren't checking out till the next day. But as the original booking was for the small room, he insisted that we had to come down and it couldn't wait until the next day. I found this highly unusual and totally inappropriate. We had been in the hotel room since 7pm and did not receive any call earlier.
Overall, if you don't mind a bit of a hassle, this place may be fine for you, but if you have high standards, you will be disappointed, because you will certainly not get your money's worth. The beauty of the grounds are not reflected in the rooms, service or management.
