It was pathetic experience.. hotel staff does not even have manners to talk to the guesst. They threaten their guesst that you will not be able to go back home single leg, and no one else but the GM of the hotel uses such kind of language to their guesst. I am planning to sue travelguru for making my vacations so horrible. I had even called goa police to safeguard me from hotel staff, and when i contacted travelguru for the help they never turnef up for my help. Travelguru sucks. Do not make any booking with them!!!

The hotel is very good. The interior is marvellous. Rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms. Twice a day cleaning is done in the rooms. There is also a swimming pool in the hotel. The only thing which disappointed us is that the restaurant is not good. The food was not tasty and on complaining they didnt respond to us. The hotel is very beautiful. The rooms are large and well maintained. The room cleaning is done every morning. Tea and coffee maker was provided in the room. The hotel has all the amenities like swimming pool, health club etc. They also have parking for the ones who come in their private vehicles. The food was good. The accommodation like many hotels in goa is very basic with limited facilities. The rooms are in need of redecoration although they are cleaned daily. The food offered is reasonable snacks although we did not have dinner. The location is good.

We had a fantastic time in Goa staying at Santa Monica. All the staff are very friendly and helpful in all respects. Rooms are well maintained with very clean beds. It is away form the beach but that does not matter for us.

It's OK! It's OK!

We arrived on 1 March and having emailed ahead requested a pool view room to which I was assured I'd have on arrival. This wasn't the case and we were put in room 002 which is at the back of the hotel overlooking a factory and it was very smelly. We did move the next night and the room was nice and airy and had a great pool view. This hotel is supposedly exclusive to Thomas Cook only guests as Thomas Cook say in the brochure but this isn't true. We had guests book this place independently and Russian guests arrived today having also booked independently. Pool is smaller than in the brochure and the food here is a little on the pricey side but ok to have. Hotel is located on a quiet street where there are some lovely restaurants to eat at namely Fire On Ice, Rajs Happy Place, Lazydays Cafe as well as Chelsea's beach shack and the Rovers return! There are also a tailors and jewellery shop on site too. Will definitely be back to Goa but will stay somewhere else next time.

Agree with everyone. U get a back room overlooking toilet factory to begin. Disgusting. Then after complaining you get a balcony room overlooking pool. Adequate. The Big no no is Nowhere to put clothes. The wardrobes about 3ft wide. A joke. Not 1 shelf 1 drawer or anywhere to put your. Clothes. We lived out of our suitcases, which was a bl...y nuisance. We had NO AIR Con for 2weeks. No TV. Wonder we didn't melt away. What we DID have was cockroaches. One even came home with us in the case, but according to the manager there are no cockroaches in Indian. Hahahahahahaha xx on he plus side, the waiters the reception. Everyone there was extremely nice, helpful and smiley. The food was very nice. The drinks were great. The pool was clean. They did there best but I think they r up against it with the owners who were reluctant to spend money. Come on Guys a couple of shelves and a rail for your clothes, how much would that cost. Please will someone change the tortuous rails to the pool. U need proper STEPS. . Well hope you take note of this. Some people at the hotel who had been there 1 month told us they had (wait for it) BED BUGS. Oh god. Give me strength. That's it. Hope there is some improvement, cos the workers deserve better......

No one there to check us in on arrival at 4.30am. Rooms not cleaned if they thought they looked clean and tidy. Bedding only changed once, but they did turn the sheets over so maybe this is deemed a change. Bar and reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Watch out for the room cleaners who also manage the in room fridge. They overcharged every guest who was checking out (so keep a note of what you use from the fridge). The only entertainment was Karaoke once a week and a singer for 1 night only. Had to go out of the hotel if you wanted entertainment and if you got back to hotel after 12am the bar was shut. The streets surrounding the hotel where littered with rubbish just thrown at the side of the road in bin bags which gave the cows and dogs the opportunity to rifle through them and eat the contents. Calangute isn't the best resort. Oh and almost forgot the resident rat who used to come out while everyone was sat having a drink at night. Apparently he lives at the hotel

I really enjoyed my stay at Santa Monica. It boasts nothing extraordinary, but is in a great location between the beach and the main street - quiet location. Rooms have everything you need - get a room overlooking the pool! Toast and eggs included in some of the rates. Large menu and cold beer available at the restaurant.

The hotel is very basic by UK standards. Arrived late at night to find ourselves in a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking a factory. We could not use the balcony or open curtains. We requested a move and got one after a week. We were given a room overlooking the pool which is much better. The pool is ok and offered a refreshing swim after walking back, but the steps to get out of the pool are quite high in the water and tubular, which can make it difficult to climb out. The location of the hotel is handy for shops, restaurants and town. The beach is a around a 15 min walk. The breakfast is eggs and toast which we enjoyed and you can buy other alternatives. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. The are very helpful and friendly with a great sense of humor. I would use this hotel again but request a pool view before hand.
