I was moved from hotel seagull to other hotel on arrival which i was not informed about in advance but the hotel to which i was moved was also good but not what i opted for

Location: the hotel location is about 30KM away from Mapusa Bus stop and only half a km away from beach. Calangute beach is only 2 KM away. Very close to other facilities like ATM, Taxi stand and market. Everyone seem to know where the hotel is if u take a public transport. Standard fare is 250 bucks for taxi and 150 for auto-rickshaw. Parking: No parking slots. Just road side parking but bike rent service is just outside the hotel. Front desk: same desk as restaurant. The receptionist seems to be less concerned about dressing as he is always sitting in his pajamas/shorts/tees. He and his buddies always chatting over the desk. They don’t accept credit card but well documented about bills. Room & room service: The rooms are excellent. Wooden finish, great flooring, AC, small refrigerator, cupboard, electronic combination vault, huge designer mirror, 24 hours running hot and cold water, good toilet finish and cleanliness. The room was road facing and had a balcony. The curtains were good and everything in the room was working perfectly. Though there is no bell or intercom so if you need room service then you need to go down to the reception. There is no daily housekeeping for the rooms which means you need to ask them when you need the room cleaned. But they do clean on asking. Cleaning room is necessary everyday as in a place like Goa sand seems to be flying in the wind. Also laundry takes more than 24 hours to arrive. Food: Just yummy. Great variety of choice and at very reasonable price. Many recipes of English and continental food available to choose from. They also serve a wide variety of liquor and exotic wines and you must try “The Mixed Meat London House” if you are a non-veg freak like me. You are allowed to take your half-eaten dish to your room as well .. lol Staffs: Very helpful and sweet. Always ready to lend an extra hand whenever asked. I loved it the way they arranged our anniversary cake.

This is a nice little hotel located fairly centrally in Calangute. The staff were relatively friendly, the rooms very clean and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaints would be that the pool was a little dirty and then wifi only worked in the public areas of the hotel (though this is stated in the description of the hotel).

I arrived in Goa on 6th Feb 2017 my family stay in holiday street, and as I booked late I was unable to get into my regular accommodation. Looking on the net I found hotel seagull, it was in the location I wanted to be near my friends and family. as I was on my own, On arrival I was given a 2nd floor room the smell of mothballs was so strong, but you are in Goa this I could deal with. The next day I noticed the towels were not clean so use my beach towel to dry myself Went to breakfast then left my keys in the box saying make my room, I asked the manager if I could have a clean towel. I cam home from the beach to find my room was how I left it, I asked one of the boys for a clean towel this did not arrive so used beach towel. Next morning sitting waiting for breakfast asked manager if my room can be cleaned.. he seemed very hostile then left me sitting there for ages, I asked if I could order breakfast and was told NO as I had not paid for yesterdays I said I thought it was included, he was so rude, I paid what I owed him and left. When I returned my room again was not made and the Manager seemed very hostile. As I was on my own and did not feel safe, I contacted Expedia, although I booked in the UK they are in India and have no UK office. Expedia called the hotel and had a conversation with George this I was told was the Manager. I asked them to move me but after calling the manager he refused to refund the remaining 11 days. The next morning The manager asked why I had contacted the agent and that I can leave but will not get refund. when I tried to reply he turned his back on me. I phoned my Husband in the UK he booked my a hotel for the rest of my stay. I returned to the Seagull. found my safe open this was the final straw, i packed my bags and asked one of the boys to carry it downstairs this he did, when my cab pulled up The manager said something in indian and the boy walked away. the cab driver told me he said not to help me. The manager is short with no hair beware if you are a women on there own he is a bully, I feel this would not happen if my Husband was with me.. If you are a single women

The only good thing was the location, walking distance from the beach and good for shopping area. The service was zero. They refused room service, there was no intercom in our room. The bathroom faucets were leaking, kitchen wasn't open even for children. Rooms didn't get clean on time or properly. When we wud request them, they wud say deal with it. At the rates they charge I got no value for my money back.

We stayed here for 3 days. Only plus point of this hotel is near to beach. Ventilation is not at all good, Water issues, Out of 3 days we got hot water just once. When complained they had not answer or solution. Rates are also high, You can get better hotels with the money you are paying.

Stayed here for 4 weeks great little place brilliant staff good clean rooms Goan standards .. The beds are very comfy very powerful shower always hot water anytime of day. Nothing to much trouble Gregg the Manager is very helpful. Five minutes down the road you're on the beach,lots of restaurant,s about and twenty minutes walk into Candolim ..
