Disappointing. Would not return Disappointing. Would not return

As per some other reviews, this could be a fantastic place but the attitude of the manager lets it down. We stayed here for a couple of nights and booked in here knowing that we would arrive early in the morning before the 11am check in. At about 6 in the morning the manager offered us an early check in for roughly two thirds of the cost of a whole nights stay. We politely declined and said we would wait until 11am which clearly got his back up. We had breakfast there and waited for the check in time. I anticipated that there may be some punitive action against us for our refusal to pay for the early check in. I was not wrong. At 11 o'clock when we tried to check in the manager informed us that our room was no longer ready. Although our room had been available for early check in 5 hours earlier, he told us that we had now been allocated a different room and would have to wait a little longer. He was enjoying making us wait. When we eventually got into our room we had to ask the staff to come and get the shower to work as there was no water at all. After they fixed the shower we never actually got any hot water no matter what time of day. The water was stone cold, not even warm. We also had to ask them to fix a light switch that would not turn the lights off as we didnt fancy trying to sleep with them permanently on. There was only one electrical socket in the room so had choose between either using the mosquito plug or charging a phone. The room was generally very tired and the bathroom was grubby. There was a large crack in the basin and the toilet was filthy. We actually had far cleaner bathrooms in the beach huts that we stayed in later. We booked a Deluxe room with a fan. This room could not be described as Deluxe by any stretch of the imagination. Im pretty sure that there are much nicer rooms at Seaview but we were allocated the one that is specially reserved for guests that the manager has taken a dislike to. We had a bad experience here and would not stay here again which is a shame because this place could be a real gem. It was spoilt by the manager who as somebody who works in the hospitality industry, I would suggest go and learn some manners and social skills. On the plus side, the bar and restaurant staff were very good (separate business?). There is also a lovely pool but dont know how long it will remain like that as the circulation pump never seemed to be working.

Rented an Executive Suite which was quite comfortable, but cannot exactly be considered a suite. Seaview has no view of the ocean, so if you want to watch the sun go down, rent a shack on the beach. It is a short walk to the beach, but not exactly on the beach. It is a family run business with adjoining restaurant, run by another guy. Very friendly people, good service, decent food. There was a shortage of cash at the ATMs which made the trip more interesting. New Years Eve fireworks on the beach. Ayurveda massage available as well.

Excellent service. Friendly feel. Excellent service. Friendly feel.

Can't speak highly enough. We have travelled quite extensively over the years and stayed in various types of accomodation. This little resort is a real gem! It is family run and you can feel the warm welcome almost as soon as you arrive. We stayed in room 115 and found it clean and very comfortable. This room is perfectly situated on the ground floor with a small balcony. We had a view of the pool and the gardens and also felt quite private. We ate a few times in the restaurant whithin the hotel. The food was very good and the staff where lovely and informative. The beach is literally a few minutes walk down the road, where you will also find a plenty of choice of restaurants and shops. The main town is a short tuctuc ride away (chemist for us brits) and any other extras you may have forgotten. The hotel now has an added bonus of a pool which is definately a plus (pools are quite rare in goa). Edmond the son of the owner personnaly ran us back to the airport for our flight home and charged us less than we had been quoted prevoiusly. Edmonds sister ednisha kept us entertained on a couple of occasions and I don't think she knows just how funny she is! Thank you to all the family and the restaurant staff (Nick and ash) for making our hard earned holiday such a success! We will defenately be back!

Some good and some bad points Some good and some bad points

Pros I found all the staff to be helpful and the pool area is nice. I had a room above the restaurant which was very basic but clean. The food in the restaurant was good and a bit cheaper than on the beach. I felt safe staying here alone and met some friendly people staying here. Cons. There didn't seem to be any wifi access if you were in the far end of the complex and there was a lot of noise where I was situated, particularly in the morning (a baker tooting a klaxon horn repeatedly from about 07.30 and the family's children continuously screaming for some reason...?? I'm glad I took earplugs!). If I were to stay here again I'd want to be situated away from the street area and the family quarters. Not sure why it's called 'Sea view' though there isn't one :)

Great place to stay and 4 minutes from the beach. Great place to stay and 4 minutes from the beach.

Have just stayed here for the fourth year running. Eddy and his family are always very welcoming and look after our needs. You simply leave your key at reception if you want your room cleaned and fresh linen. Shower has good water pressure and is piping hot. Great balcony in all rooms and plenty of space in the main bedroom. There is a new swimming pool that has a child's shallow pool as well as the main pool. All kept very clean and maintained every day by the staff. If you need a taxi then Eddy and family are happy to organise one for you. The hotel is in a great location on the main Patnem road corner and the beach strip corner. There's a variety of restaurants around the perimeter of the hotel and if you prefer to eat at the beach ( we do ) , it's a 4 minute walk. There is a wealth of shops providing clothing, jewellery, gifts and also general groceries, and beach must haves. A great little Chai shop only 1 minute from the hotel provides delicous samosas. Bajee, fried egg rolls, etc . The hotel also has a restaurant within the grounds with friendly staff. All in all it's perfect for a trip to Patnem and we'll be back again next year. Thankyou Eddy and family for a great time.
