The stain glass cottage is located a little away from the action center of goa, but the good thing is that it is quite near to colva beach, which is one of the busiest beach of south goa. The rooms are clean but do not expect very spacious ones. The bathroom was clean and high on utility. There was no TV in the room but who need one in goa. The cottage is low on food option and caters only for breakfast. The breakfast was filling and was lot for two people although the is no menu to choose from, the breakfast is generally as per a fixed menu. The staff was really helpful and courteous, as also the manager.

Just Good not great. Just Good not great.

This house is around 2KMs from Colva beach. The house is nicely decorated. Rooms are also very clean. The owner doesn't stay in this. There is a couple who take care of this place in terms of service, cleaning etc. Don't expect a home stay type stay here. As far as food, snacks, milk for kids etc is charged at a good price. Also if you bring your own food and use their dining table and ask the staff to serve that there is a service charge which might be correct but my expectation was of a home stay. Breakfast was horrible for all 3 days we stayed there. So again its not a bad property for staying as its very nice and clean but don't expect service like a home stay ( more like a 3 star hotel)

I would not recommend staying here I would not recommend staying here

My friend and I stayed here in February 2015. The Homestay is quite far out from the main town of Colva. An AutoRickshaw will cost you about 100R/- to get there and it's about 25 minutes walk from the main town of Colva. The live in staff called Bonnie and Brenda couldn't be more helpful. The owner of the property is called Maria. We were paying for bed and breakfast but Maria's breakfast will cost you extra. The reason being is that that on the first morning she asked very nicely if we would like to order anything special for breakfast for the next morning, like special breads, fruit, yogurt. We said yes that would be very nice, thank you. This was said without her saying that it would cost extra. On the second last morning she mentioned that there would be a bill for breakfast but just for tax. We said that was fine. The next morning we were presented with a bill for 1,350R/- for the special breads, fruit, yogurt, which we refused to pay. The rest as they say is history.

A quaint little place ... A quaint little place ...

by Amit-Durve on September 3, 2014

This is quaint little place in South Goa, not so easy to find but it took us a few stops for asking directions to reach there ... I booked this place through a Group on and i have to say i felt i got a good value for my money... Ofcourse we we going during the off season time so hence the Group on offer being in play... This is bungalow which has been converted into a hotel with the basic amenities being offered... They have different rooms called red yellow blue green room etc, the only thing different in them is the color on the walls and stained glass on the windows ... The staff comprises of a handy man with his family who look after your needs, so safe to say it isnt the best when it comes to service ... Breakfast served complimentary is never enough and they charge a lot for anything extra that is ordered ... All in all it is not a place to goto if you are looking for comfort and luxury... Shane is the guy who was managing this property, he was quite helpful during our stay over there... They do not have wifi, the laundry facilities are the handy mans family washing your clothes in a washing machine and drying it in the hotel... If you stay there, you have to go out for everything you need or want to do so that should be kept in mind ...

A rare jewel! A rare jewel!

Happened across this place through expedia. What a find! From the off the owner was extremely helpful. She also spoke to us everyday at breakfast. Wonderful host. She Provided a pick up from the station ( small cost) during the night as the train was delayed, which negated the usual barrage of auto rickshaws competing for service. 15 mins from madgaum station; this was a welcome relief from 34hrs on the sleeper from Agra. The cottage is amazing. Decor is a mix of old country and modern. Open plan interior leads out to a courtyard. Which has a Spanish feel to the place. Very tidy and clean. And all within a gated compound so very safe. All of the rooms are doubles but if you require an extra bed that can be provided. The rooms are very tidy and clean. Well appointed bathroom with boiler at your control. The upstairs room shower requires the pump to be switched on. So ask before you have a shower and they will turn the pump on otherwise the water pressure can be low. Staff can't do enough for you here. The property is within a small village (colva). So if night life is what you want. You need to go north. This is a peace place and hassle free. There is a bar/ restaurant within 3 mins walk called Lisboa. The manager there is great. Food top notch and cheap. Satallite tv will keep you entertained as will Friday night karaoke. Lastly colva beach is about 1.5 km away, about 20 min walk which was done with ease. A great find in south goa I strongly recommend a stay here.
