Sun City Resorts Goa A sincere and aesthetically sound resort in the by lanes of Baga beach and walking distance from the famed Titos lane. For a 4 night stay, this seemed perfect.
What makes a stay experience great?
A little about the resort from this travelers perspective. You make your way right off the Calangute-Baga road into the gates of the property. First impressions nice location right by the main road, yet not BANG on it! Driving into the parking area near the reception, one isnt lost where you need to head to. You immediately have the welcoming view of lush plants & trees and the gorgeous swimming pool, which I feel is the highlight of the entire property. Crystal clear water, inviting environs and a little water slide everything required to instantly make you feel like the Partys getting started!!!
Ill admit, the first room we were given wasnt exceptional a little dull (might be the lighting), the washroom you could tell were cleaned yet had an old feeling to it, the table had a few cup stains were the negatives, however the room was big and spacious and we had a pool view - all in all it was fair, and quite honestly for the deal we got for the stay, more than we gambled for. However, there was a musty smell that compelled us to request for a change in the room. The manager in charge seemed to be willing to listen & help. Since it was housekeeping/check-out time, he offered to show us other rooms in a couple of hours and offered to watch our luggage while we were free to explore around. A welcome move that he didnt have to do from his part.
Once back and waiting at the reception area to be shown our other room options, the owner of the resort Mr. Naresh Luthria a gentleman in every sense of the word and a gem of a person, found us lingering around.
This is where a mediocre experience turns into a great one!!!
Mr. Naresh proactively enquired on the issue and instantly provided us with a premium room which is one of their more recently done up rooms. The linen was clean, the washroom fresh and whats more, we still had a good view of the pool. We were shown other options as well, but settled for the premium room. Once we checked in to the new room, he followed up with a call asking if everything was to our liking AND if there was anything extra he could do to make our stay more enjoyable.
In my book, this is the essence of top notch hospitality that money cant buy. One might graduate out of the best institutes, work in the best of places, but you cant teach this aspect to anyone.
Over the course of our stay at Sun City, we ended up making good acquaintances with Mr. Naresh who continued to offer his valued opinion of various things from food, to places to go, to best means to get around by, etc., Whats more he turned out be a brilliant Pool player and beat me hollow in a best of 5 game.
One thing we looked forward to was the breakfast. A decent spread with extremely tasty food on every single day. Its one thing to have a great start to the day. Its another thing to be wowed consistently each day!!! The cooks know their job and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast spread.
While the owner acknowledges that the place does need some work, which was underway, one room at a time, we were NOT disappointed, contrary to some of the other reviews about this property. For the rate the property is charging this property is a steal and great value for money!!!

By far the most atrocious place I've stayed for a holiday. Everyone looks for value for money. Its place + location + sevice = money paid as rental. In case of this resort = a dhaba or a shack will give a better service. I'll amplify.
- I think the resort was conceived on great ideas but now it's like a rental bike in goa - less mileage more fuel and torn apart seats with broken suspension and coughing engine with shaking handle and a candle worth of headlight. I mean the building and rooms need serious maintainence.
- housekeeping : they have no idea if we are the guests or they are ie the people woking. When you checkin the rooms are dirty. Old bedheets probably of last user tucked in pathetically. Bathrooms never cleaned. When you ask for something to be done be assured you'll feel like a beggar cause its not coming. You have to beg for your water bottles, clean towels etc.
- facilities. Lights dont work in room. TV is size of a computer monitor. No fridge. Bathroom has an instant geyser on opposite side of the bath area and a single tap water supply. so if you are feeling hot, leave bathing and rush to switch off the geyser. Beds are very uncomfortable as spring beds which have out lived their useful life. The worst or the cheapest toiletories basically soap and shampoo sachet is given. The tea maker is not connected and only two cup worth of tea is given . No spoons to mix the tea. Keep begging.
Breakfast - again the cheapest possible in world. What they give as juice is RASNA.
SO basically these guys are on a cheap trip but are charging exhorbitant prices.
Shabby room was allotted, on repeated requests room wasn't changed. 14" ancient TV with less than 10 channels n poor Lighting in d room resembled a shady motel. Washrooms were filthy, couch was in tatters and in d morning when Sun light entered d room..v saw d source of Stink in d room..check pics of Vomit on washroom door!!!
Was with Kids so Left the place asap, owner n staff were shamelessly unmoved as I had paid in advance.
Stayed in december 2016, booked through my travel agent. location is about 10 km from baga beach. Rooms are not properly maintained and are smelly, Initially i had to change the room alloted to me. Balconies are not cleaned at all. Some doors are having no latches from inside, cable tv reception quality was very poor. They also had a mr. grumpy at reception when i checked in at afternoon, Who narrated all the rules to me in one go, apart from him all the staff was courteous and helpfull . pool and breakfast was decent.they do have a free wifi. good property but not maintained well.
We visited Goa on Diwali October 16.
We booked this hotel for 2 days.
Property is good with a big and well maintained swimming pool. If u see the outer beauty of property it's great.
Even staffs are good..
We got an extension of check out time with some additional charges.
Thanks to the manager.
But hotel rooms are not well maintained.it looks like too old property. No lift.
Wash room shower tap was not working.. when we called the mechanic he could not fix it properly..
Wash room was not up to mark..
Tea maker was not there. We called the reception and they arranged it.
TV was old fashioned and not clear. 1 rating for tv..
For room I would give 2 rating as it's premium room with around 4000+ cost but room standard is poor.
Rest property was good.
Complimentary breakfast was good even though options in buffet were less...
Staffs are good..
Nearer to Baga Beach so that's a big advantage.
I would suggest opt this hotel only if get at a discounted price below 2500.
It's difficult to get the resort in Google map correctly..
You can higher bike from out side agent..ask the security guard for bike..
