An oasis An oasis

We have stayed at Club Diwa four times now and are planning our next stay already. Our experience has been consistently good and the hotel is as fresh as our first visit in 2009. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms huge. Breakfast is excellent and can be taken any time of the day which fits in with the very leisurely ambience. The gardens are very pretty and well kept. The spa is tranquil, staffed with expert masseurs. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and respond promptly to any requests. We recommend Club Diwa to couples who are looking for pure relaxation and high levels of service and comfort.

We stayed here recently and couldnt find fault with anything the hotel itself is beautifully kept, the grounds immaculate and the staff are so helpful and attentive. Our breakfast was beautiful every day excellently presented and the evening we eat here the service and food was great. Sundowners were a great addition and enjoyed them before an evening meal. The rooms are lovely large and airy and bathroom enormous all in all I couldnt find fault with anything but a big thanks to the friendly attentive staff best I have experienced and we travel a lot - will definitely use this hotel chain again if we travel to any country they are in

The spa and restaurant review The spa and restaurant review

by anypaty on January 6, 2017

So I have written a normal overview river about The Diva club. But over here I'm specifically focusing on the spa and restaurants. Spa- The spa is amazing. They have a huge variety of massages. From Ayurvedic to international. There are foot massages and facial. Even eye treatments/ massages are there. The spa over here is the best place to de-stress, detox and rejuvenate. I got multiple massages done. Based on the recommendations from the spa help desk. 1)The lightest massage is the Swedish massage, it is a light paced massage. You'd wanna go in for this massage if you don't want to much pressure on you body. 2) The medium paced massage is the Balinese massage. Which is slightly intoxicating. If you can not handle an extreme pressure massage. Then you should go in for this one. I liked this more then the Swedish massage. 3) The fast paced and increased pressure massage is the Shirodhara Ayurvedic massage. It is the best out of all the massage and I enjoyed it the most. It is very very de-stressing, rejuvenating and intoxicating. The massages above were quite expensive and were full body massages. If you are looking for a cheaper massage that isn't full body, then you can go in for the facial or the head and foot massage or the eye massage. The best part about the massage here is at the end of the massage they give a complimentary cup of ginger tea, it is the best ginger tea I've ever had. Restaurants- 1) Bistro- This is the exclusive Diwa wing restaurant. The food is basically Mediterranean and Italian. The risotto and ricotta here is amazing. This restaurant is less crowded and more peaceful. But it is exclusive only for the Diwa club members. This is near the Diwa club pool. 2) Vivo- This is the normal restaurant. It serves food from all around the world. It has both buffet and Alacarte. The variety is huge over here. But tends to get overcrowded as this is a common restaurant. 3) Spice Klub- This is the Indian restaurant and it is amazing. This is more formal than the other two restaurants. The Goanese fish curry is amazing over here. Even the North Indian food is amazing over here. The Indian spices tickle your tastebuds. 4) The Bar- The bar is near the common swimming pool. The cocktail and mock tails are really nice and unique. The gin tonic is also amazing. The appetisers such as their Jalepeno poppers are yum.

We stayed for a week just before Christmas and can say this is a fantastic hotel. We had a club suite, which consisted of a lounge, bedroom and huge bathroom. The room was on the third floor and overlooked the club pool and bistro. We were bed and breakfast. The hotel is quiet and ideal for a relaxing break, the staff were all friendly and efficient. Around the club pool there were plenty of sun loungers and fresh towels every day. The all day breakfast ( part of the club package ) was excellent. We frequently used it as a brunch. The combination of a European breakfast with indian dishes was unique and delightful. With chana tea at 4 o'clock and sundowner drinks at 6 o'clock meant we were only purchasing one meal a day. For the standard of hotel, the cost food and drink in the hotel were very reasonable, albeit expensive compared to outside restaurants or bars on beach. We charged to room and paid by credit card at end of week. We had a meal in spices restaurant which was excellent and of a high standard , and ate once in the bistro in the evening again good. In the evening the hotel was very quiet ... as we discovered most guests eat out. There are two good restaurants across the road from the main gate and cheap, we were paying an average of 15 for two, having two courses and drinks. Be warned the portions of the food were huge. Both restaurants accepted credit cards so overcame any difficulties with currency. The village adjacent to the hotel has a selection of shops and felt safe and friendly. The beach was a ten minute walk, the hotel provide on request free shuttles if feeling lazy. The beach has a number of beach bars and restaurants, the food looked good and the beer was cold. The beach was miles of sand and dependant on how far you wandered you could be in isolation or with people. The sand was white. There were life guards on the beach and some motorised water sports available. A highlight was the evening of lighting the hotels Christmas tree, and the hotels support of a charity for downs syndrome children. This was our first trip to Goa and I am sure will the first of many including a return to this hotel. This hotel, especially the club rooms is a hidden gem

Perfect spot to relax Perfect spot to relax

The Alila had a hard act to follow as we arrived direct from the Oberoi Rajvillas. It delivered. It is a resort that has been feng shuied and has the most charming staff. Our room was enormous and comfortable and the bathroom was something else. The pool in the main hotel is stunning - infinity edge over the paddy fields. Surprisingly the staff at the Club don't mind people putting towels down on loungers to reserve them - I resent this behaviour in guests, we went to the main pool where that didn't happen and it was far more pleasant! Great food options onsite and great ones nearby. Superb Christmas carol and tree ceremony. Lovely beach 10 mins walk or by shuttle bus. Spa - the best ever, I have never had such a good massage, the hot stone massage for 90 mins was epic, gorgeous spa rooms with outdoor shower. Looking forward to exploring more of the Alila hotels, loved our stay.
