Stayed here in August 2019 for holidays.
The hotel car pickup was smooth, if a bit of a long wait... it that was the last of the issues.
The staff at the hotel are well trained and friendly (cant say the same for the sister property, more on that later). They were extremely helpful with all issues.
The room was spectacular and overlooked the pool area (all rooms do). The room itself was spacious and featured an extra-large king bed, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious and featured a large soaking tub. We loved the balcony and spent a lot of time enjoying the rain and cool weather.
The sole restaurant, Bistro, is open air and the staff are extremely attentive. We enjoyed many great breakfasts here. Room service was also on point and we enjoyed all the meals. There are more dining options in the adjoining Alila Diwa Hotel, which we also used.
The pool is large and hardly anyone uses it (maybe due to time of year) and it felt like we were in our own private space.
We went down to the beach once but the water is brown (monsoon?) and the beach is littered. The hotel offers complimentary shuttles to the beach, as well as to the adjoining hotel.
Overall its a great spot and I would come here again. The only thing I would complain about is that they wouldnt have the shuttle drop us to a famous nearby restaurant (Martins Corner is barely 600m away) even when it was pouring outside...felt like we were being nickel/dimed.
Cant say the same for the adjoining Alila Diwa property (reviewed separately).
I have stayed in many places in Goa but the Alila Diwa Club surpassed my expectations. You simply have to stay here! Stayed in a first floor room in the Diwa Club. Super sized room with an amazingly huge bed, huge bathroom and fabulous balcony with two day beds. The balcony overlooked the swimming pool which was surrounded by palm trees and luscious foliage, bird song, eagles and dragonflies around. Right next to nature. Simply divine. At this point I have to thank Sylvester and his team, Cynnia, Alisha and more whose service was exceptional. The Bistro Restaurant, which is attached to the club was excellent. Service was first class. Special thanks to Galvin, Colin, Clint and Valencio for their unstinting and smiling service. They were fabulous. The spa team were also exceptional and if you take the Diwa by Design package, not only are all of your food and drinks included but also a variety of massages. The massages were incredible and super relaxing. We also visited the main hotel which was also excellent. Watching the buffalo/cows coming over the field while taking in the sunset was just magical. Thanks to Jimmy in Edge Bar who made seriously fabulous cocktails and Sevloin who also provided amazing service. The Courtyard Bar is a great place to sit out and while away the evening with friends.
I will be going back. This hotel is amazingly fabulous and you have to experience it. Thank you all so very much for a totally relaxing and incredible time. Missing you already Sylvester and Co.
We had an absolutely delightful stay at the Diwa club this October. The property itself is gorgeous with a central courtyard - surrounded by a canopy of trees, the sound of water, and a general calm about the place that makes you want to just sit around with a good book, even amidst the temptation of idling around on Goan beaches. With a toddler in tow though, we couldn;t do much of either. And yet the friendliness of the hotel staff made sure that we had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay. From a cake and specially drawn rose bubble bath for the child's extended birthday celebrations, to complimentary donuts and child-friendly drinks at the lounge, they somehow seemed to know exactly how to keep a child happy and that a happy child = happy parents :)
There's a kids pool and two others for adults - a common one for all guests, and the other in the Diwa club area. Breakfast spread is nice enough, and so are the other dining options. They also have a theatre room where they screened a kids' movie at 3 pm everyday and a dedicated play area. However, what would complete the experience is some form of entertainment like live music or such for hotel guests in the evening. But that's just me nit-picking. The stay in all ways possible is quite nice. Thanks to the team - Alisha, Suman and others who's names we may be missing now, for going beyond to make this a great experience overall.
The resort is, put simply, sublime. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is one of the friendliest and well run hotels I have stayed in.
The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. Sylvester on the club reception will provide advice, help and arrange things both within the resort and to the wider Goa. I cannot praise him highly enough, as his local knowledge is second to none.
Price wise - this is not a cheap resort, but neither did I feel it was overpriced. I have stayed in more expensive venues which simply did not match here in terms of customer service, food quality and friendliness.
If you intend to stay at the resort, look at the all inclusive pack. However, if like me you prefer to explore to places such as Palolem beach then the breakfast deal makes sense.
Locally there are a number of restaurants nearby. Try these - you wont be disappointed.
The beach shacks come alive here in November - but there are still restaurants open in October which are set back from the beach. Alternatively Palolem is an hour away by taxi, and nicely vibrant at this time of year without too much overcrowding.
Overall, a great place - Ill definitely be back!
Excellent resort. Clean place. The pool is also very clean. The staff give importance to your comfort. It was so nice of them to check our dietary preferences. Their buffet spread is amazing. I loved their homemade paan ice cream. And yellow dhal.
Swimming pool is very clean.
worth every paise spent!!
