We celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary at The International Centre - Dona Paula, Goa. The place is beautiful with a lot of lawns. The rooms are clean and well kept. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The highlight of our celebration was the help rendered by Hasina who went out of the way to make our celebration a success!!!
We recently had a chance to stay at this property while on a family vacation.
Pros = The hotel is one of the cleanest, well maintained. Staff is quick to respond and service fast. The area is vast and open instead of crammed spaces in other hotels. The rooms are big and spacious. The hotel has a Gym, Swimming pool, library, business center, free WiFi, ample parking space. The largest plus point is well maintained lawn and gardens visible from almost all rooms. The prices are cheaper compared to other similar hotels. This is ideally suited for conferences.
Cons = The hotel is located away from the beaches and hustle and bustle of Goa. Places for hiring taxis, bikes and local food are away from this property. Spa is missing. Food menu needs up-gradation.
Way Out - Stay at this property but hire a car/ 2 wheeler if you can drive. Then you can have the cake and eat it too. Enjoy excellent stay and the mobility to visit any place of your choice for the beach/ eating joints.
We traveled to Goa to attend a conference. While we attended seminars
throughout the day, our ten year old bookworm daughter kept her nose
buried in her books. No wonder, our overall rating of this resort went
up when we discovered the excellent library full of books and
magazines for children (as well as adults).
The entire resort is laid out like a small self-sufficient campus with
various facilities (libray, gym, swimming pool, children's playground)
spread out in a well thought out design. Through it all they have also
retained a sense of rustic naturalness - which I simply loved. Being
able to watch the setting sun sitting on a low stone-wall in peace and
complete quiet while my daughter enjoyed the swing is something to
treasure after a long and exhausting day of intense science.
The room was spacious and excellently laid out, replete with a futon
(for the use of our daughter) and a lovely balcony, and was spotlessly
clean. The housekeeping staff were excellent in what they did. I am a
cleanliness freak and they didn't give me a single moment's headache
during our entire stay.
The front office staff were also extremely efficient and helpful. I
particularly liked the genuine Mario-themed artefacts which were on
sale. I absolutely love themed mugs for souvenir and decidedly hate
going shopping in the city. Both requirements were met by the front
desk when I picked up a Mario-themed mug from their collection.
I promised the staff I'd positively post my `positive' review on
Tripadvisor. So here it is, hoping we'd be able to return for another
ICG experience soon.
Goa is known for high prices and poor cleanliness especially in the lower end hotels. This place is reasonably priced, well maintained and above all is quite spacious. There is a small swimming pool, enough open spaces to sit out and have a leisurely reading, the rooms are big, well appointed and clean. it exudes a serenity which many other hotels lack. The front desk is exceptionally efficient and courteous. Restaurant is good , but if your interest is in Goan cuisine, you will be disappointed. They serve, north Indian and Chinese mostly, but the taste is nothing great to speak of-the standard dished out by most 3-4 star hotels. The bar is quaint and service good. The beech is not very near. If you are a member of the international centre, the rates are very attractive. otherwise it is comparable to other similar hotels of the same class.
Things to remember: They host many corporate programmes there, if there is a batch going on, lunch may get delayed, and break fast may not remain through morning . Never arrange a taxi from the hotel. They dont use AC in cars, drivers are from other states and hence dont know any place, the rates are very high.
its a great place to have dinner ambiance and food is very good and the rate card is also good. a little away from regular goa attractions but worth going there. its near from the goa medical college, it have is spread over a large area and good for a dinner
