We arrived here with friends after 5 days in Beach Street and stayed 5 nights. We had chosen garden villas rather than cheaper cabins but ours was dark and hot. The ground floor is pretty useless but the bed and bedroom were kept very clean. The bathroom was basic but ok, though dark. The balcony overlooked what had been optimistically described as a tidal lagoon but which looked to us like a bit of a swamp. The balcony was too hot at 6-7pm to enjoy sundowners. The gardens were ok but unkempt. Great range of yoga classes twice per day. Atmosphere chilled & laid back. Breakfasts were quirky but pretty good. Andrew, Annelida and staff were friendly and very helpful.
My partner and I came to this beautiful resort as a result of the offer on booking.com. We stayed in the most beautiful villa, where we had our own private living room and massage parlour, the upstairs had a huge balcony overlooking the lake and our bedroom was massive. The staff are the friendliest and kindest people - from the kitchen staff to the security guard and not to mention the lovely owners and yoga teachers!! A real gem in north goa- I will definitely be returning!
The Mandela managers and staff are delightful - warm, friendly, nothing is too much trouble. But the pricing would suggest better faciities and a higher standard than is currently evident. Breakfast cups are grubby, food choices limited, cushions and furnishings tatty, plumbing poor (yes I know, this is India) and the grounds look very neglected. If you are into yoga then this might be for you but otherwise, look elsewhere. And you can't pay by credit card.
Mandala is more an experience than the name of a hotel. Peaceful, an oasis, gracious service, simplicity without missing out...the experience is restful and as healthy as you choose it to be. Yoga classes, Eastern-inspired workshops, mindful eating of fresh cuisine set the scene for wellbeing. Anjalika and Andrew, the managers, host Mandala with grace and attention to detail. Their personal warmth and depth of knowledge of the area combine to provide guests with fulfilling planned and equally unplanned days. They helped us choose the best cafes locally and there are some awesome authentic Indian cooks around Mandrem, Ashwen and Arambol - some in walking distance and others no more than 15 minutes taxi away. Mandala - simply the best. Be mindful that Mandala is simple - that's its charm - and accessible down an earth pathway, like many hotels and guestrooms in this area. It is rustic, Bohemian-Chic and you sink in quickly to the earth between your toes ... and then there's the sunset! Do go!
This is a nice spot ,very nice garden, and seems to attract yoga lovers ,there is lots of different courses you can do if you like yoga it's probably tops there was an aromatherapy guy there nice but charged 1500r for a small concoction of oils that I personally didn't think was value ,the eco huts are nicely done but no good to anyone who doesn't like small insects/wildlife or hear the other guests fart or cough ,saying that everyone was pleasant nice restaurant chill out areas but after 3 days I had to vacate in 1 hr because of double booking mixup ,the owner did apologised and compensated me ,I would of stayed another week but maybe other guests were doing courses that probably pays more
