The Tamarind Hotel

Plus Points: 1) Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. 2) The location of the hotel - it's located on a quiet street in Anjuna. 3) The restaurant has an extensive menu and the hotel serves food 24*7 Areas of Improvement: 1) The staff at the front office need to be trained on customer service. Far from being welcoming, the mostly came across as indifferent and surly. 2) The rooms were very small for the price. The pieces of furniture left barely any space to move around. 3) The toiletries were not replenished each day despite reminders at the front desk. 4) Even though the hotel provided an elaborate breakfast, the place was ridden with flies that made meals difficult to enjoy

Had a really good 6 nights here. We stayed in a quiet room away from the road. Advisable. Thereze and all the staff looked after us very well. Good choice of food, lovely lounging areas, nice pool and ambient atmosphere. We hired scooters from here; rode to Anjuna and Vagator beaches, Museum of Goa, Friday and Saturday night markets, fort which are nearby. Guided Tour of Old Goa with Valentino (Make It Happen) is a 45 minute ride. Well worth doing. Dont go over the big bridge unless you want to get a fine like we did! They booked taxis for us too. Well be back.

Ofcourse they are running a business, but its also important to remember that its in the hospitality industry. No warmth at all...just a cold 'i dont care' attitude from top to bottom in the hierarchy. Guys learn to be nice, before over selling everything from dinner to bfast to even water. There were flies inside the net in the place where they had kept the honey/syrup during bfast. I closed it immediately. The rooms are nice. The house keeping is good. The location is very good.

I stayed with my wife during 17 feb to 21feb. The hotel is best for couple stay. The Tamarind hotel is located in a not so crowded place which is good if you are looking for a peacefull stay by the nature with swimming pool and various other activities inside the campus.... anjuna beach is not much far away from this place hardly 3 kms i believe. rooms are well maintained.pool area is clean.Dinner area is very good. Mobile Network might be an issue for some. Breakfast is very very very good. Over all I give 9.5 out of 10. I highly recommend this hotel for peaceful environment. Staff is co-operative.

I stayed at The Tamarind for 2 nights. Had booked a premium room with breakfast. Upon reaching I found out that the bathroom was of really inferior quality the kind you see in hostels and something I would never use. Room was good enough. When I told them the pictures of premium room you have put online and one you gave me doesnt match at all they said they have different bathrooms in each room! It was ridiculous. I guess I got the worst bathroom in the hotel. They considered my request to switch rooms and we got upgraded to the family suite the next morning. The hotel is very beautiful and located nicely. Be careful while booking as you might not get what you paid for!
