Did a stay here in Feb '16 AND Feb '17 for seven nights.
+ The place is located BANG on the main street with all the good eating joints, shopping outlets just a few minutes' WALK away. THIS INCLUDES the walk to the beach. Its literally TWO minutes.
+ The rooms are quite apt for CRASHING in the night, take a shower in the morning and HEAD OUT.( I MEAN YOU DON'T GO TO GoA TO ADMIRE THE WALL PAPER)
+ Washroom(s) are decent enough. 24 HR water supply (HOT and COLD)
+ Laundry service is available at pretty decent rates.
+ Reception staff is of great help. They will fix up a rental car/bike/taxi for you at the best/cheapest rates. That is another reason which made me stay here for the second time.
+ Staff otherwise also is very helpful.
+ NEAT and CLEAN swimming pool (you won't mind the calm water after a SPLASH in the sea). The swimming pool is quite OK in size.
+ AC works great.
- Breakfast option is BAD.. and I mean that is one area that needs HUGE improvement. The complimentary BF is just eggs(any way you like)+toast for non-veg..and..porantha,poori bhaaji,POHA.. i mean come on man.. POHA ????
- And it is quite sad that the Restaurant manager will not negotiate for the vegetarian(s) on the BF menu.( i:e if its POHA..nothing else for you)
BUT you can always order off the menu.
- No electric kettle or iron box.( word of advice-kindly provide these basic things)
ALL IN ALL
it is a MORE than just a decent place to come.sleep.head out
staff is amazing
BEST PART- location, price, staff and LOCATION.
NOT SO BEST PART(S)- "THE" COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST.
We booked flights for a New Year Goa break fairly last minute. We struggled to find anywhere online within our price range, with good reviews, in Candolim, which was our preferred destination. I looked at this place a couple of times but was reluctant to book as, even though the Tripadvisor reviews looked good on the face of it, there weren't any reviews dated more recently than March 2015. Conscious we didn't want to travel all that way without a guaranteed bed at the end of it, I eventually booked directly on Serenity's website. When we arrived after a v long travelling day, we were fit to drop & checked in as arranged. First impressions of the room allocated were that it was dark, dingy & smelt of damp. The bathroom was also dark, dingy, had random hairs in the sink and on the walls and the toilet wouldn't flush. So far, so not good! We were going to reassess after a sleep but, on pulling the covers back, found the bed also had random hairs in it, there were stains on the sheets and the mattress was damp. Eww! Two further rooms were offered when we complained to reception, but both had similar issues, so we checked straight back out. We ended up staying at Ruffles, which was much nicer, for much less money (approx 30 per night compared to the 60 per night Serenity wanted). A shame as the location of Serenity is good, staff seemed pleasant and nearby Horizon Grill restaurant is lovely, but there is so much nicer/better value out there!
Moved here after one week of nightmare in serviced apartment ( security reason). Simple place , but all basic things r available. No troubles from outsiders. They really care about peace and comfort of guests.
Staff is super friendly. Swimming pool is clean. Rooms , linen , towels r super clean.
They propose basic breakfast complimentary in "Horizon Grill" (cafe , connected to the same building)
Minus: noisy in the evening, rooms r not soundproof. But I think it's everywhere in north goa. Even in this case they r strict : 22:30 music is off in "Horizon Grill" and make sure guests r not disturbing each other with loud talking etc. in swimming pool area.
We had a great experience here ! Would like to come back.
We stayed 3 nights and our needs were met. Convenient location. Best points were proximity to the beach, quieter than I'd expected, friendly reception staff. The swimming pool did not entice us. he Wifi reception needs to be upgraded. Breakfast was OK.
Candolim is hyper touristy and it depends what you want from a holiday destination.
Our needs were met and we then moved on to a quieter beach further north.
Jayesh, the manager is a gem. Nothing is too much and there is absolutely nothing that he doesnt have an answer for and there is nothing that he cant arrange. Good comfortable rooms, clean resort. not too loud and walking distance from Candolim beach. Loved my stay here, will be back.
