Stayed for two days with family. 23rd and 24th Dec 17. Drove from Mumbai, hotel had good parking facility. We could get room with 3 beds. Had a good sleep. Room was good with TV, AC and hot water supply. Staff was also co-operative. Nice hospitality by Manager Mr. Shivshankar. It has an attached Veg restaurant. Serves tasty breakfast. Onion uttapa was awesome. A bit improvement in cleanliness is needed. Certainly suggested to stay with family.

First things first, Gokarna does not have a decent hotel which offers satisfactory lodging, food services. We were family of 5 senior citizens. Think twice if you want to stay over else be ready to make comprimises on comfort n service. We stayed for 2 nights n 3 days in gokarna at hotel ashokavana. After much searches online n the feedback for some of the other hotels i finalised on this which was rated good (reality was different). Hotel ashokavana supposedly approved by govt of karnataka (obv it is not very difficult to get that status ) i realized later what it meant, is abt 3 km app from the beach. Very near to hotel shiv prasad this property is basically a bedding service only. It has a small space known as canteen with even smaller kitchen. We booked 2 rooms that is one 2bed ac and other 3 bed ac for 2 nights for 5 of us. The cost for this came to a whopping Rs.11000 n in a bit i will tell u what came with it which is perhaps why you should keep ur expectations to zero in case u want to go here. What was bad: 1. Rooms were just only very ok ok. 2. Bed sheets n pillows were BAD. Additional bed sheets if asked were very very poor. Bath towel were most pathetic. You will never use them even as a door mat. 3. We were worried of bed bugs but luckily did not c any. Iam quite sure they exist thr considering the maintenance n the quality of bedding n towels. 4. Ac- jokers kept switching it off whn we left room n had to approach them everytime wr can back. 5. Damn these guys disconncted the room bell switch so v had to walk a floor down everytime we had to tell anything to the reception (we had nothing but complaints to tell them) i suppose that's y they kept all the switches in all rooms deactivated 6.no room service 7. Hot water comrs only in morning n sometime they are not available even at morning 8.canteen , food is uninviting n we stopped with a glass of tea n looked outside for food. 9.bathrooms were ok nothing good in thr just that it was not a nightmare. It looked usable when walked in. 10. Parking facility for 5 cars 11 poor customer service 12. No daily room house keeping. 13. The charge u pay as room rent has nothing to it.. no drinking water, no soaps (if u dont ask n fight for it), no service. 14. These guys (n this applies to most of the lodging services) think they are doing as favour by accommodating u. Gokarna tourism had to mature in terms of what it can offer to tourism. It was a very dissatisfied experience at gokarna. We decided if we revisited gokarna we will not stay over evn for a night again m never at asokana vana. In a scale of 10 (10 Being good) we rate ashokavana at 3. Food is another problem. You will not get a decent joint to have food. We searched searched searched n ended up always at pai restaurant. A non ac quick eat cramped joint.this place is self service n the guys think they are a blessing to man kind just like the lodging people. In our search, we also went to the restaurant at samskruti, not great. Final advice, go to gokarna recommend no stay over if u are a family type since u don't have a decent place to stay or eat. The place, beaches is good.

* Service was satisfactory. * The rooms were clean and neat. * The hotel is close to the town and almost 6 km from the beach. * Card payment is accepted but they might charge extra 2% for the same. * If you want to explore nightlife at the beach, better not to go for this hotel.

hi, we recently visited gokarna and we stayed in this hotel. First thing is TV is there but it is not working we asked management they didn't responded well. Later we visited beach and then came back to room by 7.30 by that time hot water is not coming we asked manager to provide hot water but the response which we got from him is the worst that i have ever heard. the response which i got from is like i was staying there with out paying any money. it's too worst and the hotel which it had is the place where you will get little food with more money. Due to demonetization we payed through card they charged again extra amount on it. It's so bad.

I had been to this hotel in Ganapati Festival. Nice & clean hotel with very very co-operative staff which helped for good service. Good location near to market & rikshaw stand having each & every facilities nearby. Please visit a nearby family restaurant for good quality of homely veg and non veg food.
