Stayed for a couple of weeks on business, Comfortable room with a balcony that overlooked the grounds and pool. Room was clean and reasonably well equipped - no iron or dressing gown. Staff were always polite and usually attentive, though the service could have been better in the restaurant. There seemed to be an awful lot of staff, but once or twice I had to walk across the room to ask for something.
There was a tendency for the hotel to be noisy - quite a lot of traffic noise and occassional events in the grounds (which did finish early).
On two occassions I had to ask staff to be quiet in the corridor outside my room after their noise had woken me in the middle of the night.
Overall, pretty good and I would stay again.
We had evening snacks at the pool cafe. We sat inside that was cool with lovely furniture. Ordered many dishes: Chicken Club Sandwich, vegetable pizza, chicken cutlets, mushroom pizza, Capachino, tea, milkshake with ice cream. All dishes were very tasty.
The club has a swimming pool, squash Court, Jim, card room, billiards table, Tannis Court, lovely lawns, bar, twenty four hours restaurant, about 20 very nice room, banquet hall. All the facilities for very good.
It's only for members and their families and guests.
I have reviewed this place previously and my review stands. Always a great and convenient place to stay in Gurgaon. About 1 hr from Delhi airport depending on the traffic. Galleria market across the street is very convenient. Lots of malls nearby as well as health care facilities if needed (Max Hospital).
Big issue this time (not a fault of City Club) is that ATM's simply are out of money!!! I went daily to several ATM machines and they were empty. A big problem in India at the moment. Also, the ATM's only give you Rs 2000 notes and it is very difficult to get change for taxi drivers etc, who always will claim they have no change. So you wind up using your credit/debit card for many purchases.
Excellent Location. Peaceful and comfortable property with garden and swings for kids. The swimming pool was yet to become functional due to winter season, but on weekends there is get together of club members with Tambola and dinner facilities, which helped us pass over evening time. Only bad part was that we got room on 3rd floor. Please avoid 3rd floor rooms as there is no balcony in rooms on that floor (can be verified in hotel photographs).
Overall a pleasant and memorable stay. The breakfast too was of excellent quality with standard varieties of dishes.
This is a nice hotel which is conveniently located to Gurgaon's business area. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. It is Indian owned and operated, so misses the mark if compared to some of the better international chains, but the staff try very hard to please. The restaurant is satisfactory, and the bar is not bad. I have stayed here several times, but mainly for convenience.
