Beware there is more than 1 Brahmaputra hotel, we stayed at this one by mistake! We had no reservation, we asked our driver to take us to a nice hotel, someone told him the Brahmaputra hotel (the other one) was the best, on getting to Guwahati he asked for directions and we ended up here, none the wiser. Anyway, food was good, can recommend Dosa Masala for breakfast. Helpful staff. Bed was made up with grubby stained top blanket and an unconventional sheet, pillows wafer thin. No toilet roll or toiletries, soap etc, take your own. If going out at night & getting taxi back make sure u take a hotel business card with you, our taxi driver took us to the other hotel Brahmaputra & didn't know where this one was. Ok for 1 night budget stay.

Good stay Good stay

I stayed at this hotel one night with friends and another night alone, as my friends left a day before my flight. I asked them whether I can get any discount, but they denied. As I had to leave early on the next day, I asked to discount something against complimentary breakfast (which they claim costs Rs. 100). But they did not give any discount. Rooms were good and clean. No problem staying there. Regarding cost, it's little costlier as the place is almost at the outskirt of the city.

Friendly and Budget Friendly Friendly and Budget Friendly

I didn't want to give the hotel a "very good" nor an "average". For me, it falls somewhere between the two. Good would be better than the two options given by Trip Advisor. Located in Six Mile, it is not too difficult to find the hotel. The best option is to put Tsangpo restaurant on google maps. It will direct you to the hotel as it belongs to hotel Brahmaputra Madhukalya. From the main road, it doesn't really look attractive as it is the lodge area which you enter from the front. You need to go inside to reach the hotel which is quite neat and well maintained. Having stayed there multiple times, I feel that it is a safe place for girls to stay alone also. The rooms are neat and cleaned religiously by the staff. The staff are also quite friendly and helpful. There is complimentary breakfast offered on most of their rooms. I'm not really a fan of the breakfast there, but of the spread on offer, I would suggest the north indian spread or eggs. One of the best aspects of the hotel is that it is budget friendly with single non AC rooms for Rs. 850 and AC rooms for Rs.1470 (till the last time I visited in December 2015). It is also convenient for travelers who have to travel to nearby districts/ areas from Khanapara.

Nice hotel with two lifts and the restaurant looks plush too.I stayed in this hotel twice for two days both the time.Far from airport but not very far from station.Located in a busy area and depending upon the floor the views are good.

The Namesake! The Namesake!

To begin with, when you make your booking, state clearly "Hotel". The same compound has a lodge too. The entrance is narrow but it leads you to a spacious parking lot. It is located close to a bustling market place which becomes livelier in the evening. Public transport is easily available. It was a pleasant stay, with the clean rooms and the prompt service. The food is average and a bit pricey. Their restaurant is called Tsangpo (reviews found elsewhere). There's the complimentary breakfast from a preset menu which is okay for the price you pay. Even though it is well maintained, there is still plenty of room for improvement. The elevator for one is from the bygone eras. Certain knobs in the bathroom have already come apart. To sum it up, it is okay for a short stay.
