HOTEL BLUE MOON IS just near umananda ghat on bhuban road. I checked into the hotel on 30.09.2016 and checked out 03.10.2016 stayed at standard double bed room non ac. the rooms are quite big and spacious. bathrooms are quite clean. but be prepared for lot of mosquito bites throughout the night although they will provide you with a good night mosquito repellent mat(which is of no use). also no one will replace the bed sheets and towel and even no room cleaning. Will recommend this hotel for budget accomodation. Lifts are not well maintained.
Nothing special about the place. It is just like any other budget hotel. Seems to be an old property with old furniture, old lifts etc. Plus point is that it is away from noisy roads and is at a walk-able distance from bramhaputra river and the ferry point to umananda temple. Nice market place nearby. Railway and bus stations and about 2-3 ms away and need to hire a cab or an auto. Overall, if you are looking for a overnight stay, can be a good option.
The hotel is away from main business centre of Guwahati, but very near to Brahmaputra river. The food in the restaurant is good. The room tariffs are in the higher side. The hotel has a bar and a conference hall
We are a group of 8 senior members stayed for 2 days. Bathroom was liking. Beds sounds. Tv didn't work. Though we booked c p plan room they gave 2 slice of bread and tea only. Windows was covered with newspaper instead of glass. We complain about it but they don't repair.
Hotel is terribly noisy - during the day you can't relax because of the construction work in the neighborhood, at night hotel staff is partying, shouting loudly and even singing (I am not sure, but some of them seemed to be drunk). Multiple requests to keep the volume down were ignored. As there's no sound proofing whatsoever, you can never relax in silence. Shower in our room was broken, hot water barely warm and would run out after 3 minutes. Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting every 2 minutes or stops working at all. Service tax is nowhere mentioned in the room-service menu, but the waiter demanded that we pay it. We booked a non-smoking room, but was room stank of stale cigarette smoke and cheap air freshener, which the staff used trying to mask the odor. Beds are very hard (wooden planks covered by a thin mattress). Food ranges from average to horrible, coffee and tea were the worst I've had in India. Some of the positives: room was clean by Indian standards and quite big.
