first floor housing the restaurant was closed for repairs-but room service does manage to serve food! location-great service-ok cleanliness-good staff-ok one drawback- no bar and full food room service after 11pm. over all- a good hotel which is value for money.

We had a mixed feeling of stay as the town itself gives a orthodox look,too congested,poorly maintained buildings,heavy traffic,bubbling with population pressure and under these surroundings,the hotel gives a reasonably good stay feel basically for business purpose and less for leisure.

Stayed here for three nights. Tastefully done up lobby with goldfish pool and a lift with glass panels. Standard room. Standard furnishing. Clean linen. Ac. TV. Somewhat noisy little Mini Bar. Electric kettle. Wardrobe, Mirror, Sofa, Stationery for writing and some cosmetics in the bathroom. Fairly well-lit. Newspaper in the morning was a well-appreciated gesture. The Wi-Fi has decent speed too! A litre of free drinking water everyday is a nice freebie to offer.I appreciate it. The Cleaning crew is really efficient and I would return to a spankingly clean room every evening. The Hotel is located on GS Road. So lots of shops and certain amount of traffic (although sound insulation is good). But no view to speak of. No play area for kids. Breakfast (nice) and dinner ( simple thali) were included in the tariff and no complains on that front. Just a word of caution, the bathroom window has no bars. I think it is a bit of a security risk...a very slight one though , I admit. Actually had it not been for a couple of things I would have written a glowing review. The issues I had (one on the day I arrived and the second, just minutes before checking out) leads me to believe that the staff need professional training on a war footing. The first night the lights (but not Power line) went off at around 11 PM. I called the Front desk and they told me it was a problem affecting the entire hotel. When asked if they had generator support the answer was in the affirmative. So went off to sleep. However, the next morning when I woke up the power had still not returned to my room. The corridor lights were on . Reception did not pick up but Housekeeping did. I saw the lift move up, stop at my floor, heard footsteps, the sound of a switch being clicked but saw no one. When power was immediately restored I realized a circuit breaker had tripped. The NEXT NIGHT a guy from Maintenance knocked on the door to ask if there was an issue. I had mentioned the issue to the Front desk when leaving the next morning and I think they passed it on to Maintenance...but to land up 24 hours late!!!!! Second experience: I ordered two cups of coffee shortly before I checked out. I made it clear that this was a personal order that the hosts should not bear the expenses and the bill would be immediately settled in cash. The waiter got the bill but only for one cup...he said it would be OK if I paid in full against the bill. I refused and asked him to go and get it rectified while we finished the coffee. So he did. I paid and told him to keep the change. Then he came back say he had miscalculated and I should pay the difference. I did. I thought the case was closed. However, when checking out the Front desk said I had NOT paid...I said I had. They had no computer records which should not have happened. So they started calling up Room Service etc. This whole rigmarole took almost half an hour to settle...and I had a flight to catch and was getting impatient. Other guests were arriving/leaving and Reception was tied up over this. Then they got Room Service to send them the cash and the bill...Room Service set them the bill and amount for one cup...I kept saying it had to be for two cups! Then both Reception and I gave up trying to sort it out...I think they realized I was telling the truth and the confusion was between their depts. Finally they needed a printout I had to sign and the printer stopped working. The reception guys kept apologizing, I was getting late and impatient...the entire exercise was stressful and embarrassing for me in front of the elderly guest who had dropped in suddenly. I could see the Reception guys were doing their best, and keeping a smiling, polite face (I appreciated that). Actually, all the staff members are nice and smiling. However, a business hotel has to be swift to respond and to have professionally trained personnel...just charm, warmth and hospitality will not be enough I think. At the end of the day I did mind the loss of time or else why would I mention it online when for everything else Pragati Manor got full marks from me.

we stayed one night in this hotel. location wise can not complain.on a busy main thorough fare- g. s. (guwahati-shillong) road and therefore in the thick of activity and traffic. the rooms are largish but the toilets small. the view from the window was to another roof piled with rubbish. restaurant was average, service prompt. breakfast spread could have included some fruits and the egg station a more active chef.the table clothes were stained . previous diner's food remains were still was not on one table but all.needs more supervision. but the staff was polite helpful smiling which made all the difference. can be improved without much investments.

Entrance and the waiting Lobby are not upto the mark. Rooms are Ok for a solo traveller. May get cramped for 2 people. Breakfast is complimentary, but funny thing is there`s no Meal Plan available and one has to eat out from its restaurant with extra billing. This goes against for most of the corporate travelers with MAP. Location is good. Situated on the main busy road of Guwahati and very near to the newly opened Central Mall. Everything is easily accessible from here. No intercom for calling between rooms. You have to route your call through the front desk for calling another room. Overall an average Hotel. Nothing great about it to mention other than the location and the Wi-Fi (good speed).

ln of It is a new hotel came up in the central hub of Guwahati city.The ambeience of the hotel is beautiful.As soon as you cross the Reception lobby you will be attracted towards the lift where in the ground floor an artificial fountain has been created and the fountain water is collected in a stream of circular water pond which is full of very colorful small fishes.When the all see through lift coming from the top and comes to ground you will have a feeling as if the lift landed in the water pond.On the 1st floor the hotel is having restaurant ,Gym facilities,conference hall etc.2nd to 4th floor are having rooms for stay. There are suit rooms also mostly in one corner of a floor.suit rooms are very beautiful with mini bar provision,freeze,digital locker,2CTVs of giant size in guest room and the master bed room.All rooms are air conditioned with auto tea/coffee makers,iron,hair drier,big wardrobe,shoe polisher etc.Beautiful modern art is hanging on the walls of the rooms which really look nice.Break fast is included with room rent and varaities of foods are available in the break fast which is buffet.For lunch or dinner one may go to restaurant or place order from the room.All types of foods are available including chinese,north indian,south indian, east indian and inter continental including european. Foods are very tasty.Mineral water is served free in the room.Wash room in the suit is quite large with bath tub,steam bath all are available.They also organize local sight seeing with hired car provided by them.All together the overall experience of staying in the hotel was very nice and memorable.

Its a good hotel and very much centrally located on the main GS Road of Guwahati and every place/corner of Guwahati is easily accessible from the hotel very easily. More over the food quality is awaesome but are very much into regular indian food, chinese dishes and other continental dishes only. So, one should not go with an expectation of good traditional ethenic food here. But, as far as the rooms are concerned are very good....must stay
