The Hotel is perfectly located with a warm feeling of Sacred River Ganga by it's side. The Hotel staff are excellent and very polite... Team Pankaj Singh n Sunil Singh are very very helpful. Will send my parents soooooon...
We checked in early evening of 18th December. Hotel staff at loitering entrance and reception werent exactly welcoming. They were very wary and for some reason, seemed surprised and caught unawares. Front desk was the worst weve experienced in a while. Wed booked a suite and when we entered there were clear signs that staff had hurriedly just mopped the floors. While washing up, it became apparent why. Water was running out from a loose pipe onto the bathroom floor. Room was also dirty (see pics). When we phoned reception, we were asked if they could send someone to mop up!
Clearly no-one was interested in sorting the problem out. It was only by making a fuss did we manage to get moved to another room. Not a good start!
The second room was a vast improvement. The location, on the banks of the Ganges, is also amazing.
The problems became clearer when we learnt that the manager Navneet Singh Naula, was not in attendance. Things improved considerably when he returned a day later. He was courteous and solicitous and was concerned about the issues we raised.
Pankaj was incredibly helpful with all our requests, however trivial. He deserves to be promoted immediately!
Dhysan Singh at breakfast was also great very friendly and kind.
We had a very warm welcome. The staff is extremly polite and friendly. The hotel provides a complimentary programm, like Yoga, guided visit of the Ganga Aarti, live music, afternoon tea,...
The location next to the Ganga is perfect. Never found a cleaner and quieter hotel on our Indian trip ;-) And it was heated (we stayed in Winter)!
It is a good property right on the banks of Ganges
Luxurious and Clean,
Not accessible through car so one needs to leave their car at nearby parking and take a Rickshaw to the property,
Try and ask for E or Motor Rickshaw
As peddled one is Quite small and one needs to be flexible to jump in and Sit
Front Desk is OK, and courteous nothing extraordinary or warm
Welcome drink was Soup, Same soup was served in Lunch Thali.
Satish from Restaurant is a Gem and gets all my Points
We checked in on 31st Dec and paid INR 4000 (2 Adults ) for Gala Dinner and event at the hotel
above the price paid for River facing Suite (Expensive)
We were taken for Evening Arti by Hotels Pandit to Har Ki Paudi and told not to pay anything to Pandit as he is Inhouse Pandit
This too was poorly organised and disappointing
We came down at the reception at 1645 to be taken for the Arti we were told to wait at the terrace and enjoy evening tea till Pandit arrives which we did,
We came down in 15 Mins to see every Guest was ready with their Family to leave for Arti
Har Ki Paudi is around 800-900 mts away where one needs to cross pack market streets of Haridwar
My partner had a sprained leg and couldn't walk a lot for same reason so i wanted to ask them if an arrangement can be made to take her to the Arti however everything became very Chaotic and Preferences to give special treatment to few guest were already set and we missed our window to show our wallets and background.
We were told to follow there Pandit by hotel staff and then the Marathon began
Everyone was running across the market street not to lose Pandit and Arti.
what i noticed and didn't go quite well on me was, Hotel staff took a VIP guest Kid who around 10-12 years on his bike/scooter and made everyone else run behind the Pandit
i understand it's a facility they manage for arranging Arti however i wasn't aware of discrimination which was done at that point.
it felt more like we were uninvited for that event and Arti was only 1 particular VIP family,
they have another property name Ganga Lahiri, more guest and few Foreigners were added to the Marathon from there,
We were later divided for Puja after Arti by Properties Pandit to the local Pandits
Now Haridwar is renowned for there fake Pandas/Pandits who do nothing but Conning
While doing the Puja we were forced to Shell out 1000 Rs to the local Pandit which i didnt even realise how he made me agree on while chanting Prayers
I only got to know after Puja was done, he asked me for INR 1000 because i agreed to him while praying,Was a good way to Con,
A Japanese Couple standing a little far was giving few 500 bucks Notes too.
This is a whole scam of Haridwar Pandits which we were pushed into by none other the Property we stayed in
And I am sure the staff who rode so call VIP guest son on his bike was involved too in this racket as i saw him after Puja standing together and counting Money.
There Gala dinner was SAD
Food was edible and repetitive with no options whatsoever for soft drinks or Juices, No Tea or Coffee
Buffet didn't had variety to choose from either, it was just a 5-6 feet table Buffet,
New year event was more disappointing
Speakers either stopped or started playing Ringtone
Guitar/Singing Actor was Fine
Shiva Tandav was managed very badly
Music is going somewhere else and Tandav somewhere else
Compare/Host was so not interested in the Event
Everyone was waiting in cold breezy night for Gazal till 1130 in night and then started returning to there rooms
Whole concept was at open Area near the river where it was really very cold to sit and Enjoy
It should have being organised properly and in a warm place
Entire Event and Dinner was a big FLOP
waste of 4000 INR
I am not coming here again for sure
As i wouldnt want to pay such a high price for a Hotel who discriminates Staff and makes there Guest Run only to be Conned,
Haveli Hari Ganga is very sweet boutique hotel located in the very heart of Haridwar.Very courteous staff and good food and walking distance to the Har ki Pairing.Very comfortable rooms and everything is nearby. We stayed in the rooms with the view of the ganga and they were just superb. The hotel also has various activities on site like yoga ,havan, guided tour of the ganga aarti, and bhajans in the evening.it was a very pleasing stay
