We stayed at the Taj Falaknuma over Christmas and it was exceptional. The property is beautiful and perfectly restored, and what is really special vs. other palaces is that you can "live" in the palace - wandering through the rooms vs seeing them cordoned off. But what made our visit so wonderful was the staff. Everyone works to make you feel entirely welcome, comfortable and not just is every request met, but they pre-empt what you might be wanting, with genuine warmth and thoughtfulness. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to visit again.
We visited Taj Falaknuma on Jan 15, '17, for our 12th anniversary. It was our second visit to the property, and our experience would make us want to visit again and again! The property has an excellent location, located at the highest point of Hyderabad, which provides a great view of the entire city. The arrival to the hotel is special, you are taken in a horse-drawn carriage in the manner and style that the Nizam used to arrive, followed by a shower of rose petals and an escorted visit to the room. Our room had a decoration of flowers suitable for our anniversary. In the evening, they arranged a surprise special cake and champagne at a beautifully decorated south-east garden (just for us), and flowers and roses all through dinner!! Mithun, our butler was there to anticipate all our needs, and Mrinal gave us an excellent guided champagne tour of the palace and its various historical facets. Dinner was an extraordinary preparation of a 5-course Indian meal, with regional delicacies, and the lobster preparation was to die for. Thank you to all the staff at Falaknuma, and we will be back for more!!
Dear Mr.Ritesh Sharma,
Greetings from Udaipur. I have to find words to thank you all at Taj Falaknuma for looking after us so well. Right from the wonderful reception till check out you treated us like the Nawab in the present times as well.We enjoyed your Kawali, Spa, Swimming pool, dinner and lastly breakfast and mark my words we throughlly enjoyed your hospitality. A special mention has to be given to your house keeping department who does a magnificient job with the room cleaning.
All your staff are so well mannered wishing us ADAB whenever they come across us.
My only regret is not meeting you.
With kind regards
our recent stay at the Taj Falaknuma Palace turned out to be the stuff of dreams. The rooms were spacious, very well appointed and the bathrooms were those reserved for royalty. When we arrived our baths were already drawn and ready with the gentle aroma of rose petals.
Room service was timely even though we were staying at one end of the palace(#126) overlooking a beautiful patch of greenery which in turn overlooked the city of Hyderabad.
The staff were overwhelmingly helpful and were always there at an instant when we needed them.
Since we were a large group we also availed of the coronation hall to have dinner at the 101. This is the largest dining table in the world and can comfortably seat a hundred and one guests(thus the name). We were indeed privileged to sit at the grand table that was once reserved only for the Nizam and his guests from across the world.
In essence we had a great time and when we saw the painstaking efforts taken by Taj to restore the palace to its former glory(it took them 10 yrs), we were truly overawed by the beauty and detailing of the place.
a perfect place to come for your honeymoon, or for that matter to visit with older kids. Infants might have an issue as the place in not completely child friendly.
Breakfast on the terrace is simply wonderful, especially in the winter months. and do take a look at the books in the Nizam's library.
The Falaknuma is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! A very unique palace that is a part of India's rich history, restored beautifully by the Taj Group. The Taj group deserves to be commended for preserving and glorifying India's legacies, better than any government could. What makes the hotel even more special is the wonderful staff that makes you feel like royalty at every step. We celebrated our anniversary there, and it was absolutely faultless. The location of the palace is spectacular as well. This is a must experience for anyone, truly a one in a lifetime experience.
